fall ledge makeover...

In keeping with the "no new stuff" rule I set for myself (which has had it's first amendment ~ no new "big" stuff) I decided to dress up the ledge over my couch for fall using things I already had around my nest. I loved this new little vignette I put together here for my craft room... The colors and textures will compliment my Nana perfectly... So I started at one end with this... I put a little something in the middle... I almost painted this drawer white ~ so glad I did not, for now... Then I finished off the other end with this... You can see how nicely the mirror I showed you the other day looks with it all. The end result is that I have transformed the ledge from this... To this... The only new things I purchased were the rolled up pages of sheet music (I picked page 63 for the year I was born) and the old french grammar book that are in the drawer. Oh, and yesterday there was one lonely little white beauty left at the shop...... I usually wait until October 1st to put out my Halloween decor. Just a few little touches here and there to add a little magic my nest. Well, there it is, my fall ledge makeover. I did not spend a fortune (under $10) and now I get to see some of my favorite treasures more often. The space will change a bit for Halloween then get another makeover for Christmas. Goodness, I think I will probably have to amend my rule again for that! By the way ~ did you get to see Nate's show yesterday? Sandy's segment was so beautiful and she looked like a pro! Well, Happy White Wednesday to you ~ visit Kathleen over at Faded Charm for your weekly fix of wonderful whites!!

Lucky you....a ledge to decorate. I don't even have a fireplace mantle to play with. Love your vignette. What is the white pumpkin made of? I will be going out tomorrow to hunt for pumpkins. Hope to find some white ones. :)

The ledge looks wonderful. I love the pieces you used and I really like the brown elements added, it really says fall to me.
I laughed when I read you already amended your "no purchase" rule. I told myself the same thing about buying more vintage clocks but I found such a cool one yesterday that was green with just the right amount of age (and it was only ($8.00) so it came home with me!!
Thanks for your sweet comment about opening an etsy shop. I have a shop....just haven't ever added any items. Once life settles in after this show I hope to get some things listed.

Hmmmmmm....I see more "amendments" in your future, Sandi! lol! You did such a fantastic job on your ledge! Love the way you put those elements together, girl! I'm just SWOONING over that French grammar book! Where in the world did you unearth that?? I've been looking all over for some. And I love the music sheets you've added. So sweet! Happy WW to you!

Always nice to change things up a bit. I rearranged my living room last weekend and its nice to see things in a different light. I have so much stuff, that even seasonal decorating seems to get lost amongst it all. I just can't seem to weed things out. :) Hope you are having a great week. Tammy

Everything on your ledge looks beautiful! I'd have to glue all that stuff down, it would only be a matter of time before someone knocked something and sent it tumbling over the edge. I love that painting you have in your craft room...gorgeous!

I did watch the Nate show yesterday, Sandy was so poised and eloquent!!! She did a great job! I have to say, I didn't care for the rest of the show that much...the audience breaking into applause when he was doing the nursery/bedroom on the computer screen was a bit odd! I'm sure, with some tweaking, it'll get better tho:)

I love all your treasures! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I can think of many things to do with sheet music- I'm dying to get my hands on some loose leaf "old" looking sheets. Decoupage eggs, wreaths, etc. I love that you put print music in with your Nana's photo.

Oh, it looks so beautiful!! I love decorating for fall. Usually by September 1st I will already have my Halloween decor up but this year with the move I haven't gotten a chance to decorate yet. I'm with you on no new stuff, at least for the fall this year. I have a ton of stuff already and I tend to go overboard on new decorations for the holidays. It drives my hubby crazy.
Your ledge looks perfect, I can't wait to see your Halloween treasures.
Have a great day!
Sincerely,
Melinda
