random whites...

Today I would love to be able to show you my wonderful white piece I bought out of Karen's new little garden spot at the shop but I can't.
You see it is buried behind all my "stuff" for the event.
I have been working every afternoon on this, that and the other thing ~ trying to pull it all together.
I spend my mornings out and about since I can drive now!
Yes I am smiling!!

So I thought I would share with you a few random whites from around my nest.
First, some pretties from a gift my thoughtful friend Sandi sent me...
Lovely handmade card tucked in with my gifts.

Beautiful little paper heart kissed with glitter.

I bought this old shutter hardware piece...
I am hoping to collect a few more unique "S"s for my studio...

A few weeks ago I found this sweet vintage book...
You know I have a weakness for these old beauties.  I recently sold a few that I liked but did not love so I think I can keep this one...
I do love it!  When I took a peek inside I noticed this...
The book has a fishing story in it (we won't dwell on the bad day part)!  Not that my fisherman will notice that this book is a new find but at least I can justify it!!

Next I would like to share this beautiful gift from Judy over at French Laundry from the Pay It Forward 2011 project I participated in...
A stunning lavender sachet for my Paris Hotel Suite...
Thank you so much Judy!
I mailed off my packages yesterday ~ sorry for the delay girls!

Oh and yesterday I received another package in the mail...
I was giddy with excitment...

It is heavenly...
Thank you Fifi!!

Thank you for visiting today!
Big thanks to Kathleen for hosting White Wednesday ~ I am off to Faded Charm to poke around before I head out and about!

spring at the shop...

Happy Monday!
I thought I would start off the week by showing you a few signs of Spring around the shop.
Let's begin in my booth with some sweet vintage clocks...
I hope I do not have seller's regret!

I also have some French Inspired Decoupaged Eggs...
As well as a place for them to nest...
Mary Ellen also has some cute little nests...
As well as this wonderful little cabinet that I put on my wish list...
I would love this for my entry way makeover!
Also on my wish list is this fabulous chest in Maureen's booth...
Full of chipping layers of pure vintage perfection...
I thought this was a sweet piece for an Easter vignette...
I love burlap pillows...
Maybe you have to do some Spring cleaning before you can decorate for Easter...
Perhaps you are lucky enough to already be enjoying some actual Spring weather (yes it is still cold here and might snow by the end of the week!).  If so, have you started gardening and are looking for some unique treasures for your potting shed...

How pretty would this look filled with flowers!

Karen's new little garden nook is just adorable and is full of vintage garden treasures...
I already made a few purchases from this spot and hope to share them with you this week!

Thank you for visiting and browsing the shop with me today!
I hope you have a great week!!

another collection...

Thank you all so much on your comments about my sweet clock the other day and for encouraging me to start another collection!  Jim will be thrilled.  To make him even happier I think I started another collection besides the clock...

Of course I would love one of those signs, wouldn't you?  However, I thought the wooden pins were different and would add some texture to my mostly white living room.  I remembered seeing one at the shop and scooped it up last weekend (sorry Mary Ellen)...
It is wonderfully worn and weathered...

Now I am on the hunt for more...

Before I send you all over to Common Ground where Debra is having her Vintage Inspiration Friday gathering I thought I would show you one of the projects I worked on this week for my booth.  I had a set of vintage metal tray tables and thought if I took the tray off the base...
I could make it into a message board.  It is a chalkboard...
As well as still being magnetic...
I just covered a few magnets with some vintage sheet music to finish it off.  What do you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all enjoy your weekend!

I knew the time would come...

I am sure you all, or should I say y'all, have been seeing the posts from the girls who are all loaded up and heading to Texas for the big shows.  It has been exciting to see their sneak peeks of some of the wonderful treasures that they have been rounding up for their displays.

Seriously, I do not know how they part with some of those fabulous pieces!!  As I am preparing for our event I knew the time would come when I just could not part with a treasure (or two)...
I have been scooping up old clocks here and there for my display.  When I received a box lot from an auction I won I just could not part with this little beauty...
Now I need two more to start a collection...
I have also been busy decoupaging more eggs for my booth...
And I am working on some for the event too.

I wish I took a before photo of this old frame.  It was an antiqued gold...
I love it white...
Thank you Sandi for my sweet little nest!

The details are so pretty!
It is so pretty that I can not part with it...
I knew the time would come!

I am joining Kathleen for White Wednesday and Sarah for Good Life Wednesdays!

Have a wonderful day!!

welcome spring...

Spring is off to a chilly start here in New England.
We may see a few snowflakes here and there today.
I am going to stay in where it is warm and hopefully get some more treasures ready for the event.
How are you welcoming Spring?

looking for vintage reds...

Yes...your eyes are not playing tricks on you.  The muse that dreams in vintage whites is looking for vintage reds!  You see with Spring knocking on the door (it might reach 70 here today!) and yard clean up looming and deck fluffing soon after, I have been trying to think how I can make my deck look pretty and colorful without a lot of flowers.  I am gone every weekend in the Spring and for extra long weekends during the summer and everyone who stays home can never remember to water my flowers.

We need to get some new furniture for the deck (new to me anyway) and I thought instead of spending money on flowers that die every year why not spend it on some accessories with a pop of color?  So I went to Etsy looking for vintage reds and made this treasury...

For the description I wrote...
Roses are red,
Vintage treasures are too.
They will add good color in the garden,
When your green thumb is blue!

Ok, I never said I was a poet!  I do not think my phone will be ringing off the hook from publishers anytime soon...

I am joining Debra over at Common Ground for Vintage Inspiration Friday.  I hope you all enjoy your weekend!!

time to get busy...

With our At Home With White event less than a month away I am very excited but I am also starting to feel the pressure.  I can not imagine what all you Texas bound girls are feeling right about now!!  Time is passing much too quickly...
It is time to roll up my sleeves and get busy cleaning and sanding and painting.  It will not be a glamorous job but in the end well worth it...
Treasure hunting for chippy old white pieces or ones to transform with a coat or two of white is easy...
It is just the letting go that is the hard part...
I am shopping for pieces that I would love to put in my own nest...
And hope our customers would want in theirs.

When I took a peek at The Wrentham Country Store's website to see the photo gallery of what the other shop girls have been working on for the event I saw quite a few beautiful pieces that I would love to have!  I can not wait to see all these treasures on display under the white tent waiting for a new home!  By the way, Jim keeps telling me not our home!    We shall see.

I would like to say thank you to so many of you for checking in on me to see how I have been feeling.  Your kindness and words of encouragement have meant so much!

I would also like to say "Welcome" to all my new followers!  I am still a bit behind but will be by soon to visit you too!

Of course many thanks to Kathleen for hosting White Wednesday over at Faded Charm!

I hope you all have a wonderful day!

spring in my booth...

With the upcoming sale this weekend at the shop as well as our At Home With White event in April this shop girl needed to get out this past weekend and do some serious treasure hunting.  I also sold another table over the weekend and I wanted to bring some spring into my booth.  I think I achieved that with these finds...
I shared a set of the shutters last week and how I put this vignette together so when I saw this little drop leaf table...
I knew it would fit in the display perfectly...
This vintage cabinet caught my eye right away...
Beautiful shade of pale aqua with lots of chipping...
I am planning on finally getting back into the shop to work my shift this Saturday (yahoo!) and am going to bring in a few little treasures for Easter and use this cabinet to display them.

This sweet vintage utility cart is my favorite...
Isn't it cute...
I also brought this mirror in that Jim gave a shabby coat of white to (thank you!)...
Jim has been so helpful not only around the house but also helping me in keeping my booth full and fluffed...
A few spaces have changed hands at The Wrentham Country Store and Spring has definitely arrived.  We would love to have all you local treasure hunters come and join us for our Spring Open House this weekend...
Tomorrow I am going to share a few things I have been working on for our At Home With White event.

Thank you for stopping by ~ I hope you have a wonderful day!
