suggestions please...

Hello!
For White Wednesday this week, I thought I would share with you my second completed project of the year!
And it is still only January!!

First let me show you a before picture from last May...

This is in my living room and while I love the mirror over the chair I was not loving the vignette on the dry sink and was looking for another mirror to hang over it.
Treasure hunting late in the summer led me to this old beauty...

I knew I wanted to paint this mirror, but I procrastinated and before I knew it, the holiday rush was on.
This became new year project number two...

Did you notice that I painted the top of the dry sink too...

Here is the before again...

After I was done, I was mad that I waited so long to paint it!
Even the print on the chair does not seem to bug me as much anymore...

The dry sink was actually project two A.
I still need to put another coat on, distress it a bit then put a coat of wax on the top.
Makes me wonder why I did not paint the whole thing in the beginning!
Now I just need to find the perfect treasures to display  here...

I am thinking something wooden or natural to tie in with similar pieces I have in the room like this...

Old photo from last Fall.

Any suggestions?
I would love to hear from you!

Oh, and by the way, Google Chrome solved my comment problems!

Thank you so much for stopping by ~ I am off to get inspired over at Faded Charm!

snowing and puttering...

It has been snowing all night.
It is going to snow for most of the day.
No school.
Jake is hoping for no school tomorrow too.
I am hoping there is.

So today I am going to put a pot roast in the crock pot and putter around the house.  Does anyone else "putter" around their house?

I sold a table in my booth late yesterday so I will also be working on a new piece to replace it.  Then of course the cleaning and purging will continue.  I have been doing lots of rearranging lately using treasures from around my nest in new places.  This vintage mirror was in my kitchen...
I am doing a little makeover in the kitchen and this old beauty has been moved to the small hall outside my bathroom...
It replaced this one that is now in my Paris Hotel Suite...
I'll share it's new nesting place soon!
I love the color of the walls in this bathroom ~ a soothing pale aqua.  I have removed all the pink accents I had in here like this sweet pitcher...

And replaced it with this one (which I had in my Paris Hotel Suite)...

I also put a bigger pitcher atop the cabinet and used the mirror here...
It replaced this pretty bowl...
I love the new look...
I just wish this room was bigger...

Hoping all these mirrors help to make it look bigger!  Well, the lights are a flickering...I hope we don't lose power.  The plows just went by outside...

I am not sure if you can tell but we have at least a foot and the snow banks are getting higher and higher.  Jake just might get his wish.

As for me, I'll be puttering and thinking about my next move...
And of course visiting Faded Charm for White Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by today!  I also wanted to thank you for all your sweet compliments on my new finds and family treasures!  They truly touched my heart!
Have a wonderful day!!

it's time...

I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving!!  My day was just perfect!!  However, today is THE day...I get to start decorating for Christmas!!  Today is also Vintage Inspiration Friday over at Common Ground and I thought I would share this old mirror I bought for my mantle...
I think you might remember I had that old rose painting there to warm up my room for the fall and winter but it really was too dark for me.  You know I love vintage white mirrors and I just love the shape of this one.  Look at all the detail and curves...

I always start my holiday decorating with my mantle and I think this will be a beautiful backdrop this year...
We usually do not light fires in the fireplace but I always have it full of candles to light for special occasions...

Thank you Debra for hosting today ~ I am off to see some more vintage inspiration then it's time to deck the halls!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

vintage sheet music...

Today is Vintage Black Friday over at the French Cupboard and I would like to show you my framed vintage sheet music. They are very special to me ~ "When You're Alone" was my Mom's... And "Oh, What A Pal Was Mary" was my Mother-In-Laws... These two lovely ladies have been passed along to me and I treasure them. They were each displayed in bathrooms and I now display them in my downstairs bathroom... I know, the wall color is quite bright (and even brighter in person!) but I think my black accessories really pop against it. Love this sweet old tin with a hand painted daisy, also from my Mom...Her bathroom where these came from had the old black and green tile with black and white checkered floor. She made these curtains... Sweet old black tole tray...
Still looking for something to hang above it. Perhaps one of those vintage, etched, frameless mirrors? Simple petite old black framed mirror in the corner... Old fashioned looking light sconce over the sink (which needs a skirt) and white washed mirror... I think I would like a different, bigger mirror too. I would definitely like to tone down the yellow, someday. Every room always seems to be a work in progress. Thanks for stopping by on this sunny Vintage Black Friday. I am also joining My Romantic Home for Show and Tell. Lots of eye candy today and Happy Easter from me and my peeps...

who's the fairest...

Mirror, mirror on the wall...

Ok, one thing you must know about me is that I love vintage mirrors and have collected more than a couple over the last few years. I think the wonderful frames was what first caught my attention. All that fabulous detail, lots of chipping adding wonderful shabby charm with probably the most romantic tales hidden in each one's reflection.

Hanging one of these vintage white pretties is sometimes easier for me than selecting a picture. they reflect the light and sometimes each other!

I think the fairest one of all has to be the one that started my collection.

Sweet and petite it sits on my mantel where I can enjoy it all the time. Also, I usually use it as a backdrop when I take photos of treasures for my etsy shop.

Again, it's been fun to join Faded Charm for my favorite day, White Wednesday because I'm always dreaming in vintage whites!
