Hope your holidays were happy!
I meant to pop in before Christmas with a few photos of my simple decorations this year.
Better late than never right?

Merry Christmas!

I am working on my annual favorite whites of the year post as we say good bye to 2014 and welcome 2015, so stay tuned!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

holiday housewalk 2013...

As the snow gently falls here in New England, I thought it was the perfect time to share my home all decked out for the holidays with you as well as joining in on Jennifer Rizzo's Holiday House Walk Linky Party

With so many projects still going on around here I kept my decorating simple.

When you walk through my front door, my advent calendar greets you at the top of the stairs...

I tucked glittered white pine cones from Michaels into my little tree and topped it with a vintage french book, one of my favorite gifts from last year...

Can you see my mantel in the mirror, I love how it came out this year!

I did buy some new picks at the shop this year.  They are flocked and have a touch of sparkle...

It looks so pretty all lit up too...

I tried to keep everything in white, silver, gold and pale green...

One of my favorite vignettes this year is the shelf over our computer...

I challenged myself this year to use what I had in different ways...

My master bedroom is still in the midst of a makeover, but here is a little peek...

Here is a little peek in my kitchen as well...

I love Jim's childhood stocking in the corner that his Mom knitted!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
You can see my home all decked out for the holidays last year here and here and here and here.
I hope you are all enjoying the holiday season!!

Thank you Jennifer for hosting the Holiday House Walk!

just stuff...

I hope your Christmas day was Merry...

We found out Christmas morning that our best friend's home caught fire on Christmas Eve.  Everyone is safe and nobody was hurt.
Even their sweet cat Lovey was saved.
Thank you God.

Coming together with our other great friends a few days later to help them salvage what they could, was a day I won't soon forget.
Unfortunately, they lost pretty much everything.
Seeing their strength as they sifted through the mess was amazing.
Through the tears, a few smiles and the sound of laughter began to appear.
As well as the positives.

They still have each other.
And the rest of it is just stuff.
My wish is that their good memories will keep them strong and help them through.

The rebuilding will begin and that time will help them heal...

Hoping they are all nested in their new home way before next Christmas.

I reminded her of just how much fun all us girls will have this summer spending time together vintage treasure hunting again to help her feather her new nest!

Thank you all so much for stopping by.
I would love it if you would keep our friends in your thoughts and prayers.

I'm joining Debra for her Christmas Vintage Inspiration party at Common Ground.
I would like to thank her for featuring my post from last week!

Have a great weekend!

chalkboard art...

Hello!
I'm so behind on visiting with you all (sorry).
Don't tell Santa though, I think I am on his nice list this year!

Do you remember the chalkboard I scored on my NH road trip?

I thought I would show you today the holiday vignette I built around it...

I kept it simple.
I hung the cute stocking I also found on the road trip on the chalkboard...

Don't you just love these Santas (they were my Mom's)...

I put my little tree in an old chamber pot...

No decorations on the tree, just one of my favorite photos of my kids...

I have had a few different greetings on the chalkboard as we inch closer to Christmas.
Today I did a new one (with a little help from Pinterest)...

Does not look like we will be having a white Christmas though.
Tomorrow is going to be stormy, but just rain.
Thank goodness!
How is it looking in your neck of the woods?

Sharing with Debra at Common Ground.

Thanks for visiting!
