freddie's girls...

I do not know who Freddie is but I think he was quite the player in the 20's and 30's...This one is dated 1930 and I wish I could read her handwriting better to get her name, although I can read "are you going bathing with...". Oh my!! Now, here is Jerry ~ she dated it 1926 and hopes Freddie ~ won't forget "Jerry" - "the girl with the terrific laugh"... Vera will never forget her "little pal" Freddie... Jean simply signed hers "To Freddie Boy"... I just fell in love with Freddie's girls when I saw them in a local shop. There was an old box full of old photos like these and I poured through it looking for Freddie with no luck. I wished I could have taken the whole box home but the photos were a bit pricey. I intended them for my booth and thought it would be fun to create a vintage theatre dressing room area. Freddie's girls have that old time Hollywood look to me. Now that I see how great they look in my Paris Hotel Suite I just might keep them for a while (ssshhh). Maybe one might just sneak into my giveaway!! Don't forget...my giveaway starts this Sunday, 10~10~10!! I was so excited to tell you about my giveaway yesterday that I forgot to show you another piece I picked up that I might keep too... I love the color, all the chips and scratches and the handles but wonder if it is too "country" for me. I keep looking at it and think "farmhouse" instead. French farmhouse. So I think I will ask the boys (thanks Jim and Jake) to bring it up from the downstairs kitchen (my painting area) and see if it fits in my nest somewhere. By the way...any tips for painting over a very ugly linoleum floor? Well, thank you for visiting me and Freddie's girls today now go have fun over at Faded Charm where Kathleen is hosting another wonderful White Wednesday!!

Good Morning Sandi,
Freddie was quite the ladies man wasn't he? I always love finding pictures that have a little story behind them. They do have an old Hollywood feel to them.
I love the painted piece you found too...I hope you find a spot for it in your home.
I'm off to check out your giveaway!

The girls sure did like Freddie. Too bad you couldn't find a photo of him.

You are already having Halloween fun! We can't even get pumpkins here. When they do have them, they cost about $30 for a small one. Crazy!

Our anniversary is on the 20th. My husband already came home last nite with a ring for me. He loves to buy expensive gifts. After 18 years together, he still doesn't get that I am a simple girl. :/

Hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday. :) Tammy

These photographs are gorgeous and funny at the same time. Don't you wonder what the story is behind them? Freddie was probably a real character, too bad you couldn't find any pictures of him. Thanks for sharing.

Isn't it fun when you find pieces that seem to have a story behind them? Yep, I'd be dying to see what this Freddie character looks like, too! :-)

Hi Sandi! What a funny post! Makes you wonder who Freddie was and what he looked like that he was so sought after. lol! I would definitely keep that little dresser. You could always slap a fresh coat of white paint on it so that it wouldn't look so "farmhousey". Just a thought...

Hey, and anytime you're over this way, just drop me a note and you're more than welcome to visit or stay the night or whatever! (Who knows, you may just bump into Diana in her 'Pearl' sitting in my driveway, or Debbie taking her bubblebath in my tub! lol!). But.....only if I can see your house, too! :)

Hugs! xoxo laurie
