old cape cod...

Did I ever tell you where I met my husband?

I spent my summers growing up "down the cape",
in a sweet, tiny cottage with two of my cousins and my Nana.
Our parents would come and stay on the weekends and the best memories were made...

Jim and his family lived up the street.
We started "going together" when we were 15 and have been together ever since...

When I saw an old framed map of Cape Cod at the shop (thank you Robin!) I knew it would fit in perfectly somewhere in my living room makeover that I started last Fall...

The living room is still not quite finished and ready for the final reveal, but I thought I would share my small entry way.
A little tribute to where our story started.

We spend our summers now not too far from where we first met!
Thank you for stopping by and enjoy the holiday weekend!

Oh how fun Sandi! Love your decor and that map! Never been to the cape or anywhere where there is an ocean except on our senior trip to Florida. That was many, many years ago. ha! Oh how time flies!!

Amazing and wonderful! That seems like a storybook history to me. And what a lovely memento for it! Sounds like the absolutely perfect way to spend a summer too.

What great memories of the Cape and how fun is that map? I like it when parts of our home tell something about us. The personal touches are the best.

Thanks for telling us how you and Jim came to be a couple....sweet :)

Our family also spent weeks "down the Cape" each summer. Mostly in Falmouth and then later in Dennis Port. We actually still go with our extended families for three weeks every year.

Summers on the Cape are the best, especially for teens - and it worked out great for you!! I am heading there next month - I get an "ocean craving" and have to get there before i go crazy :-) I have quite a few of Robert Kennedy's watercolors of the Cape - are you familiar with his gallery? Your foyer looks so welcoming!

I love your entry. Of course, because I have the same 'nest' sign. Mine is hanging in my shabby chic laundry room. It was made by Rita and I bought it at the Vintage Flea Market in Fallbrook, California.

Cute Story. I Have Got To Learn How To Drive. Would You Believe I've Lived In Mass For 15 Years And Have Only Been To The Cape About 2 Times For Less Than 30 Minutes Each With My Ex?
