tinkering...

Popping in today to say thank you for all the ideas and suggestions for the finish on my new~old desk top in my den!
I am still undecided...

I am still trying to keep costs down for all the makeover projects I have been doing this past Fall and Winter, trying to use what I have.
Unless of course I come across something wonderful that would look perfect in one of the made over rooms!
Anyway, I took out a piece that was next to the desk that held the printer and all the computer related stuff.
We relocated the printer and I didn't want to put another piece in but I had to hide all the wires.
Shopping my own house, this is what I came up with...

The window used to be in the living room, the small chest was in my master bedroom before the makeover and the other pieces were on a shelf over the computer which I haven't decided if it is going back up or not.
I am loving the grey, white, cream and natural wood combination.
I am not sure if this vignette will stay or not, just doing a little tinkering.
What do you think?

Speaking of tinkering, I am sure you have heard that my friend Elyse of Tinkered Treasures has penned a second book due out soon!!

There is a whole blog tour going on to celebrate with tutorials, giveaways and more!
Check out her blog for all the details!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Sandi, Nice treasures from your home store.:):) The little doll made of shells is so sweet. My daughter and I have tried to hide cords with scarves. They make plastic sleeve for them. Good luck. Hope you are not all snowed in, blessings, xoxo,Susie

Hi Sandi. I just love how the table turned out. Almost the same top that I have on my sofa table. Beautiful.

Isn't it nice to be able to shop your own home for new arrangements? I like the way you've hidden your cords and wires.

Good morning, Sandi.

Your desk is gorgeous. I'm playing with the idea of sanding my farm table top & baker's rack shelves down to the bare wood, painting them with a wash of gray, sanding a little more, and then applying a white wax for a pickled look.

Shopping the house is a great way to change & freshen things up. Lovin' it all!

Sandi,
I love your "tinkering" change in the room, dear friend!!!
The vintage window has me swooning. . .I adore how you can view the paint color and still have the window as an "art piece"!
Gorgeous night stand!
Thanks for sharing with us!
Tinkering...not recently, but I did make a "great find" purchase yesterday!!!
Fondly,
Pat

Thank you Sandi,
For visiting my bit of Gilded history, I have had this mirror since my Mother, the interior designer have it to. Me from her collection when I moved from home at 19.
It's been bumped and scratched on more then few nicks and missing a few floral petals, yet through all it has gone through being stored away, and pushed under a bed because I wanted more rural rustic then elegance, I decided to haul it out clean it up, a little gluing and thought it was to big for here or there, and did not want the mirror directly in a cross path of a window, the only place this moment was an unlikely spot was hanging in the kitchen...I hope in someway it will inspire grand age with rural rustic and best find a place in the kitchen as I know you would so do with your wonderful mix. :)

Thank you Sandi, for taking the time this on Sunday to visit me :)
Best leaving a comment that joys my day.

Brilliant idea, Sandi! And it looks great too! I'm loving that bare wood look to your desk right now! I think just a little wax and it'll be good to go! :) The brown of the wood really looks so beautiful in a gray/white room.

I love that you shopped the house for your new look.

I wish I had the space for a window in my house because I love the look of vignettes with vintage windows.

Don't you love being able to shop in your own house? That's what I do before I go out and spend money on anything new (old). Love your beautiful desk top and vignette.
