My husband brought home a pile of perfectly weathered old wood he found curbside a while ago.
I love how he thinks of me during the day!
We used some for a headboard for my son's room.
If you missed that post you can see it here.
I want to use some for a new top to our old desk in the den as we continue to make over the space...
He put one piece through a planer, but I am leaning toward keeping the boards as is.
Do you have a weekend project?
Thanks for stopping by!

Sandi, Love the old wood. Who can afford to throw away lumber...it's so expensive and those wide planks, more so. Enjoy your weekend, xoxo,Susie
wonderful old boards
I have some I am saving for a small project, they are blue moldings about 13 inches wide
it's so fun to redo a piece of old furniture, I will be watching to see the old desk made over
I hope to set up at a sale this weekend if the ice & snow doesn't get here first
Sandi,
Some our best recreations have come from the curb.
Looking forward to seeing the finished desk top. Enjoy your weekend of creating beauty for your nest.
XO,
Vera
Nothing like good training! *smile* There's no substitute for the look of weathered boards. Your desk will look fantastic! Happy weekend!
I love old reclaimed wood- that is great! I like it unplaned, too. My weekend project is keeping all my underwear clean and packed so I can go on a moment's notice when the baby is born. xo Diana
Oh, those look like some fun wood boards! Let the projects begin! ;)
Susan

I can't wait to see what you do with those weathered wood planks!
Those beams sure are pretty in their natural state!
What a good man, you've trained him well!!! I like it in its natural state...I say that but then would probably start freaking out that it was too dark!
Sandi,
I'm sure our husbands often shake their heads in wonderment at our creative designs!
I can only state that this desk is going to be terrific!!! I'll be back soon for its reveal, dear friend!!!
EnJOY your weekend project!!!
Fondly,
Pat
Sounds like a fun project Sandi. Look forward to seeing it finished.
Isn't it great to have a supportive hubby :)? The boards are wonderful.
Congrats on having your letter and pictures published in RH, Sandi.
Hi Sandy,
the old wood is sooo beautiful. Got some old peaces from a wooden fence and put them on the wall. Wonderful!
Have a great day and all the best from Austria
Elisabeth
Beautiful pieces of wood.
How neat that you are able to use it for pieces in your home, Sandi.
What an absolute keeper Sandi! Your husband is such a great guy.
sending hugs...
The best finds are curbside :)
It always more exciting to create from these finds.
Sandi, I am working on some kitchen chairs taking them from dark out dated to washed and chippy aging, will see how they come out.
Lots of fun on your hunts.
Xx

Hi Sandi!
Oooohhhh! I just LOVE LOVE old, worn wood. What a dear husband to pick up "road kill" for you! That is the best - better than a bottle perfume in my book (unless it is Chanel No5!).
Also, don't know if your header is new, but I am LOVING it, and if I could, I would jump into the screen and snatch that beautiful crock.
Thank you for visiting me, as always. Means a lot to me.
Big hugs
Elizabeth
