rainy day puttering...

I spent a few rainy days this week puttering in my studio and did some purging and cleaning.
Here are a few before photos...

It was time to take my makeshift slipcover (a matalesse coverlet) off of my chair to wash and freshen up for spring.

I decided that I wanted to "retire" my french inspired clock and cubby drawer that displayed my flower frog collection and some interesting drawer pulls that await projects...

When I took the slipcover off the chair, I decided to keep it off for a while, even though it is so dark.
What do you think...

I brightened it up a bit with my beautiful white ruffled scarf from Full Bloom Cottage...

I replaced the clock and cubby drawer with a mirror from my bedroom (since I replaced it with the one I traded for at the white show, I'll share that next week).  I scattered my frog collection around and of course I kept my french girls...

Next to my chair I hung my white rose print that use to be in my den...

I also put my prairie skirt over my little bookshelf to hide a few messy shelves.  (I bought the skirt to wear at the white show but my derriere did not need the added layers!)

I neatened up the top two shelves and added the old bell.
So glad it did not sell at the show ~ I love it...

I like the new look...

Do you?

I am joining Debra over at Common Ground for
Vintage Inspiration Friday.

I have been working on a new project for my living room that I will share with you all next week!

Have a wonderful weekend!!

I love puttering/playing in my house, rearranging, changing out, etc. Every little change gives a whole new look to me, even if no one else notices. :-) I really like what you've done to give your space a new feel!

Doesn't it feel good to move things around and freshen it up? I think I am forever moving things around! Lovely.

Looks so cozy and eclectic. I love when my eye has to travel a room to catch all the exquisite details.
Now... enjoy!

It looks great! I don't mind the darker chair at all and I think it really makes the ruffled throw show beautifully. Great cover up on your shelves...I have one I do that with, too.

Hope you have a great day- xo Diana

I love the look of dark with white. And if you find it brings you joy and find it comfortable, then you know it is all good. Best wishes and blessings, Tammy

The whole room looks great, Sandi!
Doesn't it feel good to walk into a room after you've rearranged it? Seems all fresh and new.
Enjoy your weekend.

Your new look is so nice Sandi. I am always in the mood to refreshen and redo especially with the change of seasons. I gave my white brick a treatment that I love much better than just one coat of paint and I am working on something to hang on it that I hope to share soon. Keep the inspiration coming!!
Blessings~

Sure do, Sandi! The white ruffles against the dark chair really look pretty! And I love (and had a giggle) that you put your ruffly skirt on that bookshelf! What a great idea!! :) I think I'll be eyeing my skirts that don't do my derriere any justice and putting them to better use. lol!

I like it Sandi! Good idea for that ruffled skirt! I like the dark chair because the white contrasts nicely against it. It looks so pretty.

love the prairie skirt. And I like the chair that way because it does really show off the ruffled scarf. I knew that that was from Full Bloom as soon as I saw it. Loretta is amazing isn't she?
Have a great week

Your studio looks lovely Sandi...just the thought of having a studio to putter in sounds lovely to me!!! I think the chair looks pretty with or without the slipcover:)

Less than 3 weeks and we'll heading out to Florida! We're very excited! I'll definitely continue blogging through our journey:)
