keepers and a giveaway...

I went to one of my favorite haunts the other day (I can use that...it is October!) and picked up quite a few things to share with everyone over at Coastal Charm for Nifty Thrifty Tuesday. My booth needs to be restocked and changed up after the sale this past weekend but it looks like a lot of my finds just might be keepers! Let's start with what is definitely going like this shabby pink chair and pair of oil lamps... The lamps have sweet roses on them... As you can see I still have not made a decision on my new rose painting, I will soon! Anyway, another treasure going to the shop is this wonderful old wooden box... I actually did think about keeping this one. I love the pale, weathered shade of red and thought it would be perfect around the holidays...Can you picture it filled with some burlap wrapped packages by the tree or by the fireplace filled with some birch logs...sigh. Then that little voice in my head reminded me of my "no new stuff" rule, which if you have been following along will be broken if I keep the rose painting anyway. And while this was not on my "must have" list it is beautiful and the price was jaw dropping ~ but if it goes to the shop and sells the money could be saved for something on that list in the future. It is big and the next few things fit in to the amendment that I made to the rule already ~ no new big stuff (hee hee)... Pretty nifty huh? Those little wooden boxes were a few dollars each. See the sweet little french school song book... I picked up two of these (for a quarter), one to keep and one for my giveaway ~ more on that at the end of this post! Unfortunately there was not a complete set of this vintage silver with stunning detail... At a quarter a piece they are all keepers!! I also found 2 sets of these pretty salt and pepper shakers (yes a quarter a piece too)... One set for me, one for my giveaway!! This part of a vintage music book (only $1.00) will be perfect in my booth re-do (are you reading this Jim?)... And...last but not least...something that was on my "must have" list... A vintage silver bucket to chill my champagne ~ it is my birthday month! Which brings me to my giveaway. I published my 100th post the other day, and I almost have 250 followers and 10~10~10 is my birthday!!! So I am putting together a giveaway which includes the little french school song book, the salt and pepper shakers, a few things I will show you later this week as well as a few surprises! I am also going to attempt to make a giveaway button to share with you. The giveaway will start Sunday the 10th and run for 10 days ending on the 20th. October 20th was my Mom's birthday ~ we would have so much fun celebrating our birthday month together!! Now I get to share it with all of you!! Thank you so much for making me feel so welcome here every day with your thoughtful comments ~ I truly feel that I have made many long lasting friends! Thank you Linda for hosting Nifty Thrifty Tuesday! Oh and speaking of nifty and birthdays....Happy Birthday Catie!! See you all tomorrow!!

You did find some treasures! I would start a collection of Victorian rose paintings if I were you that is a nice one. And I also collect them maybe that is why Im so partial to it. And the primative box is a cool one with it's great paint job on it. I can see it by a Christmas tree stuffed with vintage teddy bears in it. Thanks for stopping by today......Julian

Hi. Thanks for visiting my pics of your back yard. I really wanted to come to your shop when we were in MA, but we weren't near Wrentham :(.
We loved Sandwich and Yarmouthport, and New Hampshire. Those are the places I'll be blogging about next. We just loved our trip to New England. It was so beautiful! We made it to 5 states in 6 days. Looking forward to your wonderful birthday giveaway. That is great that you are able to celebrate so many occasions in one.
Love all your vintage finds. I want your rose painting if you don't keep it :). I am a new antique/vintage vendor; and it is so hard when we buy everything we like :).
