pride and joy...

When I posted the other day about my vintage jewelry collection I wanted to show you a photo of my beautiful daughter Jaclyn wearing my Mom's necklace to her senior prom. She went with Matt, just friends...

Just beautiful! She'll be 21 in September...where did the time go? My son Jake will be 16 in June, he plays soccer for the high school, he's in the green...
I love to watch him play, he plays hard and puts his heart and soul in every game. This next photo of them was from our trip to Disney World last March. We stayed at the Beach Club Resort and had the most amazing view from our room...

This family photo was taken on our last night at Epcot (our favorite) in Germany. Can't wait to go back!!

my little corner...

Today for Show and Tell Friday hosted by Cindy at My Romantic Home I am going to show you my little corner of The Wrentham Country Store that I have been renting since last July. Looking at these photos I really didn't have enough "stuff" at first!

Although I did have this beautiful bureau, found as is, in the trash!!!

Thank goodness it was summer so I went to lots of yard sales and flea markets to fill in the empty spaces.

I sold the beautiful bureau and replaced it with this bureau, another trash find which was in desperate need of a shabby makeover.
That one sold too! While I was at the shop the other day to freshen up my space I did take a few new photos.

Where my little corner is makes it hard to get a good whole space photo unless I get on a ladder and the shop was getting very busy so maybe next time I can get a better shot. I love the shabby look but I'm finding myself moving from so many roses and so much pink and wanting to stay with chippy dreamy whites with more natural or neutral accessories with a sporadic punch of color. I definately have booth envy when I see other blogger's spaces. I think mine is too busy and doesn't flow as well as I'd like it to. I had my husband help me put lace panels up which softened the space but I want a change. What do you think?

It's been a great adventure so far forming new friendships with the other shop girls and meeting the sweetest customers. I even had a few "Ta Da" moments (as I call them) when I met Jo-Anne Coletti from Vintage Rose Collection and Christine Glynn of Lucy's Lounge at Tutti Chic. I've followed their blogs among others gathering inspiration to start my own blog as well as hoping to keep my vintage treasures inspiring to others in my little corner at the Wrentham Country Store.

old mirror makeover...

Well, now that I am a proud member of blogland I must remember to bring my camera with me wherever I go! Hmmm...I'm thinking I just might need a fabulous new "photo op" bag to carry my camera in along with a cute little notebook! Anyway, I did remember the other day to take a before photo of a makeover project I've been working on.


This was an old mirror with a spring Currier and Ives scene that was water stained. I thought it needed a vintage white makeover.

I love how it came out, do you? Thank you Karen at The Graphics Fairy for the fabulous french advertising image. I intended this piece to go to the shop but loved how it turned out so I thought I'd see how it would fit in my nest somewhere, first the den...

No...perhaps in the bathroom...
No, maybe in the hall outside the bathroom...
No, what about in the living room on the mantel?


Definately not there...I can't take away my favorite mirror! Maybe it will look good in my craft room...oh and look at this painting isn't it to die for! It was my Mom's!

I do like it there but I decided that the frame is still a bit too country for me so off to the shop it went!
I finally remembered to bring my camera with me so a post on my booth at The Wrentham Country Store is coming soon!

vintage jewelry...

Of all the different things I collect, my vintage jewelry is the most precious to me because many of the pieces belonged to my Mom or my Nana.

Look at the dreamy shades of vintages whites in the beautiful strands of pearls with lovely rhinestone clasps.

I love the way they look in the glass jar!

I got this fabulous bracelet from Maureen's booth at the shop. I thought it would be perfect with my necklaces. I've recently seen pictures of Maureen's lovely home. Maybe she'll let me share them with you one day!

This vintage Sara Coventry necklace was my Mom's. I've worn it so many times to weddings or at the holidays. My beautiful daughter even wore it to her senior prom a few years ago. Wish I had a photo of her to share with you in the necklace but my computer crashed a few years back and I didn't have my photos backed up! I'll ask her to see if her prom date agrees that it's ok to post his photo too so stay tuned!
I keep this one draped over my Mom's high school senior picture. Just beautiful!!

See that sweet little heart pin in the corner? My husband bought that for me at a flea market for my 18th birthday! We've been treasure hunting together forever!

I have most of these pretties displayed in this great little cabinet I use as a nightstand. It was originally a sage green with yellow inside. Of course I shabbied it up with a warm cottage white paint with pale aqua inside. Love glass knobs!!

The lighting in my bedroom is never good for photos. I took some last night and some this morning. It was hard to get photos of the jewelry in the cabinet as I have it displayed without getting glare or shadows. However, I love the way this fabulous pearl collar photographed at night. I keep this beauty on the base of my favorite lamp.

These next treasures I wear alot...the cocktail rings were my Mom's and the pin and bracelet I got at yard sales! The bracelet is missing two stones but I still love it!!

I got this wonderful treasure on ebay from the same seller I got my favorite mirror from. Perfectly tarnished over time. This one tops my bedside lamp.
