old cabinet door makeover...

Yes, I am still waiting to feather my nest for the holidays.  I do not have anything merry or bright to share today but I thought I would join Susan over at Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphosis Monday to show you a little before and after that I recently did.  Do you remember these...

Well I sold 3 panels at the shop and had one left over.  Here is what the last one looks like now...

I couldn't resist using some more of my vintage sheet music.  I would love to know what you think!  Thank you for visiting today and have a wonderful day!!

trash to treasure...

Do you remember when I showed you this old trash pick that made me think hidden potential...

Well this is what they ended up as...

I was going to paint them white but decided to leave them be.  I just gave them a good cleaning, added a candle and wrapped it in Christmas sheet music...
Then I added them to my booth...
Nice trash to treasure story, don't you think?!! I am joining Debra today for Vintage Inspiration Friday over at Common Ground.  Thank you for hosting Debra and thank you for visiting today!  Enjoy your weekend!!

passionate for white...

The weekend weather here was just beautiful which made it perfect for people to get out and attend our Vintage Holiday Sale at the shop!  Now I will admit, I get jealous hearing all you fair goers down in Texas and out in Ohio who get to meet some of their favorite bloggers at those big events.  Well guess who I got to meet on Saturday...
The lovely Diane from Passionate For White!!!  It was so exciting  to finally meet her!  She comes into the shop quite often but never when I am working.  I am sure you all know her already but just in case you have not had the pleasure yet here is a little peek at some of my favorite photos of her home from her blog...

She truly is passionate for white and a sweetheart as well!  Thank you Diane it was such a treat to meet you!!!

The shop looked amazing for the sale, although I was not quite ready to listen to Christmas music for that long this early!  Here are a few displays that caught my eye...

Mary Ellen did a wonderful job creating these displays...

I just love this neutral palette with a little bit of sparkle.  If you like a pop of color she has that too...
Karen's shabby booth made my jaw drop...

Pam has these sweet ornaments...

As well as these vintage Chatterbox books...

I did pick up a few treasures (with my eye on a few more) that I will share with you soon.  I am joining the fun today over at Faded Charm where Kathleen is hosting White Wednesday (thank you Kathleen!).  Have fun visiting all the other wonderful white posts and do not forget to visit Diane over at Passionate for White too!!

certificat de bapteme...

Did you ever come across a vintage treasure that was so beautiful you had to just sit and stare at it for a while...
I found this beauty in my attic...

I think I knew it was there but had put it aside in my mind for a while ~ until I was ready to appreciate all it's beauty...

This is my Dad's baptism certificate or "Certificat de Bapteme"...

See the date...November 12, 1929.  Today would have been my Dad's 81st birthday.  However, today I am not going to be sad because I miss him I am going to remember his smile, his kindness, his wit and the true gentleman that he was ~ as well as all the wonderful, happy memories we made together.  My daughter was baptised 21 years ago today so it is another reason to smile and gaze at this beautiful family treasure...
Today is also Vintage Inspiration Friday over at Common Ground where Debra is playing hostess of this fun party (thanks Debra!).  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and thank you for visiting!!
