vintage sheet music...

Today is Vintage Black Friday over at the French Cupboard and I would like to show you my framed vintage sheet music. They are very special to me ~ "When You're Alone" was my Mom's... And "Oh, What A Pal Was Mary" was my Mother-In-Laws... These two lovely ladies have been passed along to me and I treasure them. They were each displayed in bathrooms and I now display them in my downstairs bathroom... I know, the wall color is quite bright (and even brighter in person!) but I think my black accessories really pop against it. Love this sweet old tin with a hand painted daisy, also from my Mom...Her bathroom where these came from had the old black and green tile with black and white checkered floor. She made these curtains... Sweet old black tole tray...
Still looking for something to hang above it. Perhaps one of those vintage, etched, frameless mirrors? Simple petite old black framed mirror in the corner... Old fashioned looking light sconce over the sink (which needs a skirt) and white washed mirror... I think I would like a different, bigger mirror too. I would definitely like to tone down the yellow, someday. Every room always seems to be a work in progress. Thanks for stopping by on this sunny Vintage Black Friday. I am also joining My Romantic Home for Show and Tell. Lots of eye candy today and Happy Easter from me and my peeps...

I think it's very special that you have sheet music from both your mother and your MIL....and to be so similar with the ladies in hats! I love the tole tray and I think a vintage mirror would be a great addition. One wall in my guest bathroom is covered with vintage, frameless mirrors and I get a lot of compliments on it. I have also started picking up vintage hand mirrors and am going to do some kind of wall display with those as well.
Have a wonderful Easter weekend.

I have a collection of framed sheet music also...mine mostly roses although I have a couple for Easter, Christmas & Halloween too. I have also framed & given them as gifts...I think the graphics are just charming! In fact, I once gave my son's ex-girlfriend (she wasn't an ex at the time LOL), a framed copy of Oh What a Pal was Mary just like your's! Her name was Mary. I also bought a collection of Cinderella covers for my granddaughter's room....so I guess I am kind of a sheet music cover freak. LOL I just like them so much better than the typical art.

Your little bathroom is very pretty, I adore the bead-board and I really like what you did with those sheet music pictures. You have put everything together very nicely in there, I think. Maybe a black and white checkered skirt around the sink would look good. The yellow is wonderful! Hugs, Cindy S

I really like that black tole tray ~ Very nice accessories for a pretty bath. I like the yellow ~ every room can't be white ~ sometimes we just need that POP of color. Especially in a cheery bath.

I love all the sweet pieces in this bath. A skirt would be adorable on that sink. I made one and just used velcro to attach. Worked like a charm. Happy happy Easter! xo

I am always on the lookout for old sheet music. I play the piano and have some but I still play from it so have not used it as art. It is a great idea. Your sheet music from your family members is just lovely..

Yes, I have seen the movie about Beatrix Potter and it was so sad! I cried and of course if you know my history you would know why it hurt to watch.
Yes, I also have the movies...and they are so precious. I bought them years ago but my children were grown when they came out..
On a rainy day I stack them by my bed and watch once again. The water color effect is so lovely.
The Tale of Jeremy Fisher is my very favorite I think...but I love them all.

I love the way they start out with Miss Potter in her little home (which is nearly more than I can stand it is so adorable, and leave to go post a letter. She gets a ride in a cart and the children on their way to school..etc. etc.
I love it all.

Do you remember her rabbit Peter on her desk? The precious fireplace..the sound of the rain... :)
Anyway...you and I have something in common for sure.
Love and smiles for you.

I love the combination of yellow and black. Thanks for the idea of framing the vintage sheet music. I didn't know what to do with a few sheets of mine that I acquired at a yard sale.
