relaxing weekend...

I enjoyed a relaxing holiday weekend at my campground...

4:00 cocktail hour right here each day with my girls...

We let the guys hang out too...
I just love the new cushions and pillows I purchased at Target for my wicker set this year ~ perfect for my favorite room in the summer!

I also planted my flowers...

Jim dug out a new garden area for me...

Thanks Jim!

How was your weekend?
Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a great week!!

vintage trailers...

It's Friday!
It's also opening day at our campground!
I am so excited!

Our first trailer was a 23' 1978 Nomad.
Now the trailer was old and it needed a lot of work.
Unfortunately I do not have any photos of the inside.
Jim worked very hard for about a month or so replacing the floor and some of the walls.
We replaced the rug and I picked a coordinating color to paint all the walls ~ if I remember it was a pale shade of blue-gray.
My Mom bought me some sweet gingham curtains for the windows.
I do have a photo of the outside...
Sorry for the bad photo.  My scanner won't work so I just took a picture of the picture!

We have had a few trailers since that old beauty.
We now have an 38' 2006 Sandpiper.
I do love my trailer but would love to have an old one again so I could pretty it up like Amy did...

Simply adorable!

Now take a peek into Kerrie's...

Now I know for sure that the mister will not go for my idea of getting an old beauty to fix up and maybe use it to hit the road someday and go junkin...not yet anyway.
So for the time being I have a few ideas in mind for my home sweet trailer after seeing what Tot did to hers.  Her trailer's interior is similar to mine ~ it is generic and dark.
Here is her before...
And after, so light and pretty...
How cozy and comfortable does that look?!!!

Here is what I have to work with...
Stay tuned...

Well I would like to thank Amy, Kerrie and Tot for letting me share their photos with you today.
Also, thank you Debra for hosting Vintage Inspiration Friday over at Common Ground.

I am so glad you stopped by today and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
See you later girlfriends!

Hmmm...do you think William and Kate ever considered a camping honeymoon?

at home with white...

Spring is almost here and the thought of going to flea markets and yard sales is giving me something to look forward to.  Although I must admit I am envious of all the lucky ones who are gearing up to go to Warrenton Texas for some fabulous treasure hunting at places like The Zapp Hall Antique Show.  I love to visit Theresa's blog and see her inspiring displays and read her posts full of excitement and anticipation for the show.  The latest Flea Market Style magazine highlights her blog...
If you are like me, heading South soon is not an option (although it is on my pixie dust list) so I guess I will patiently wait for Brimfield in May.  I would also love to go to one of those fabulous Barn Sales that some of you have ~ especially Rene's...
I love reading along as she gets ready for these events and love even more when she shares photos like this...

I would love to get Jim an outfit like that!!

While I am lucky to have booth space at The Wrentham Country Store I would really love to have a big ol' barn to have a sale like this myself.  I would love to get a chance to create over the top displays and bring some excitement of the big Texas shows or a vintage barn sale to my neck of the woods.  I would love to put something like this together...
Now Jim will not be building me a big ol' barn but he says he will wear the suit and get a paint spray gun and help any way possible if I ever get a chance to sell at a big event.  Well, suit up Jim...
I get to work play at the shop on Saturdays with Mary Ellen who owns the shop.  We really "get" each other and she loved the idea of creating something different and capturing a little essence of being under those big tops in Texas or browsing an ol' barn in the country.  That is how our At Home With White Event came about.  We will be creating a vintage market place full of whites complimented by textures of the past for any style home.  With having so many different styles under the WCS roof we knew that white would be the perfect common ground to unite us all to hunt for treasures for our customers and showcase them in a different, fun way!

The energy at the shop right now is very exciting.  I can not wait to see what the other shop girls put together ~ I know it will be fabulous!  As for my own display, it will not be what I had originally envisioned but am very happy to be able to participate with help from my family and fellow shop girls!  I am hoping to feel better than ever by then!!  Our At Home With White theme will spill over to our porch and will be highlighted throughout the store as well.

I am sure, being this is my first attempt at creating a big display, that it will be more of a learning experience for me.  I hope to make this the first of many special events for us at the shop.  If you have any tips to share with me I would love to hear them!

So if you live in the area save the date, April 9th and 10th.  I originally wanted to put together a little blog meet to get a chance to meet some of you local bloggers.  I am not sure if I will be able to pull that together now but if you plan to come to the event let me know ~ I would LOVE to get to meet you!

Thank you Rene for letting me share your photos today.  You always inspire me!  Thanks also to Kathleen for hosting another wonderful White Wednesday!  Last but not least, thank you Mary Ellen for the beautiful flowers and for letting me cross off another item on my pixie dust list...

my summer porch...

It was a beautiful weekend here and I hope you enjoyed one too! We were at the campground this weekend and I took some pictures of my summer porch for Metamorphosis Monday (thank you for hosting Susan!) to show you all where I spend alot of time relaxing, reading, and entertaining friends. Remember when I first told you about our summer plans and showed you where our screen room would go...Here is my summer porch... I love how different it is to my home where I have my collections all about. However the shabby cottage look that is me is still here in a simpler form. I am wondering though if I will fit a little french flair in here or there! I am happy sitting here in the morning with coffee... Or when Jim gets home from work for an evening cocktail... There is plenty of room to bring in more chairs if we have company... Pretty white party lights... Of course it would have been nice of me to take the towel rack away from behind the love seat before I took these photos! Here is where the vintage yellow lantern nests now... My Mom gave me this little table when we bought our first very small trailer 13 years ago... We did a bit of work outside on Saturday. Jim spread a new layer of pea stone which helps keep dirt out of the screen room and trailer... I filled a few of my pots with flowers... Jim surprised me a few years ago and put the street light in. It was great for added light at night when the kids were little. Now it is great to have the added light when I go back to my trailer to refill my champagne glass (ha). I have been putting a few nautical touches around for my husband the fisherman like the buoy above and this paddle I put on the shed... I love having the patriotic theme for the summer time... However I can not resist these beautiful colors...
On Sunday while Jim was out fishing I planned to take some photos of the lake and lodge to share too but I ended up finding a nice sunny spot to start a new book. I also spent alot of time visiting some wonderful new blogs at the Pink Saturday party. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and left such sweet comments and are now following my little musings. I also am thankful to all my faithful followers, my new friends who make me smile every day. Well let me know what you think of my summer porch and I hope you enjoyed relaxing for a bit at our site!

playing dress up...

Good Morning!!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and Mother's Day! We spent the weekend at the campground and despite the weather had a great time. I know I promised some pictures but it poured on Saturday and it was quite chilly on Sunday. I wanted to get some flowers planted but with some frost warnings for the week, I decided to wait. However, my sweetest little camping neighbor Catie brought over a flat of pretty pansies for Mother's Day! Thank you Catie... We both thought this little bunny looked scared! Then I showed her my flat bunny... I think this was supposed to be a stepping stone but I lean it against a tree. My good friends Don & Bert gave this to me when they left camping to live full time in Florida ~ I think of them every time I look at it. As the rain fell on Saturday Jim asked if I wanted to go to downtown Plymouth and hit the antique shops. I actually said no! I am saving my money for Brimfield on Wednesday!! Knowing it would be raining on Saturday I came prepared and decided to play dress up on another mannequin... I am having so much fun dressing these little ladies up...
I wanted to do another one but the rainy weather was making an afternoon nap sound really good! Especially after a night around the campfire with my girlfriends ~ and knowing that the skies would clear I would be sitting around another fire that night!! I am not sure if I will put this one in my Etsy shop or in my little corner at the shop. Until I decide she is sitting on my mantel in front of my favorite mirror, the one that started my collection... Thank you to Karen over at The Graphics Fairy for generously sharing the wonderful images I used on her. Karen hosts Brag Monday and Susan over at Between Naps On The Porch hosts Metamorphosis Monday. So today I am party hopping to show this little lady off. I hope you can party hop too and see what everyone is sharing today. Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!
