wedding whites...

While browsing through your favorite antique shop did you ever come across a display that you felt had a wonderful old story just waiting to be imagined... It draws you in to take a closer look... At the creative way it is displayed... Your heart skips a beat or two when you see all the lovely details... Then your mind starts to wander and you are caught up in your own thoughts...You start putting pieces of the story together in your mind. You might wonder which dress she chose...Did she have to wear this underneath...Perhaps this beautiful old trunk held her trousseau... Will they live happily ever after...
Mary Ellen and I had lots of fun putting this display together in her booth ~ thanks for letting me help Mary Ellen! The Wrentham Country Store is having a sale this weekend ~ if you live near by I hope you get a chance to stop in and let your mind wander too. Now go wander over to Faded Charm where Kathleen is hosting another wonderful White Wednesday! Thank you for visiting!!

Beautiful wedding display! I do look at things at antique stores and wonder about the story behind them. If I buy an old photo with names on the back I have been known to go to ancestry.com and see if I can uncover anything about the people in the picture. Call me crazy but I love uncovering stories about the people in the old photos and if I can find a family member who wants the picture it's even better.
You put a wonderful display together.

I may wonder a little too much;) But that is what keeps us all coming back ~ the story of each tattered or rusty treasure. Beautiful vignettes and yes I will wonder as I wander among each WW post.

I ALWAYS wonder about the story when I look at things....and wonder how some beautiful old portraits and such came to be outside the family realm. I also love to look at the old wedding gowns and wonder the WHO & WHY of it.

Wedding dresses don't make me too sad-at least the new ones don't,but how ccan a family get rid of wedding photos-love looking at them though!

I don't mind looking at the dresses-but how someone could get rid of or sell those wonderful pics is beyond me!

Hi Sandi,
I love vintage wedding displays and yours is wonderful! I always wonder the same thing especially when I find old pictures. How can families part with them I will never understand. Happy WW!

I find vintage wedding dresses make me a little melancholy. Same goes for christening gowns. I always wonder how they left their families archives.

Then again it is wonderful that we get to enjoy them once again.... a little Jekyll and Hyde I suppose?

Happy WW!

What a great display! And coming up with a history makes it even more fascinating.

Must be "bride" day on WW today... (I also posted on brides and their whites). Don't u just love old wedding pics? It's sooo hard to find a smiling, happy bride (they all look pretty miserable, or stoic, at best).

Yes, I do the same all of the time. Everything in my home has a story which makes me love the things so much more. There is nothing like something vintage to let your mind just wander:)

So beautiful, Sandi!

And yes, I see so many displays in Warrenton that seem to tell a story. Makes me feel like my display skills are sorely lacking.

Have a wonderful Thursday!
