yard sales and a sunrise...

I have been reading for weeks about all your successful picking at yard sales. Well this past Saturday I finally headed out myself to a few in town. My son had track practice and I had to drop him off and pick him up so I needed to stay local...hey...wait a minute...couldn't he have ran to and from? Oh well ~ the first two opened at 8:30 and they were both full of toys and clothes for babies and kids. I could not find the next one ~ but when I read the sign as I left the neighborhood saw that it did not start until 10. Who starts yards sales at 10? All the driving around paid off at the next one. A few items were ready to go right into the shop that I forgot to take pictures of (sweet little blue child's rocker and a wicker mirror). Here is what I need to work on ~ nice little library table that will get a coat of white...Fabulous vanity table which will also get a shabby white makeover..I felt a french vibe from this little shelf which will be seeing the paint brush too...I scooped up three of these pretty frames. They were originally gold and I sprayed them ivory...I framed a poem from the Graphics Fairy...As well as a lovely print for Jac's room...I scored all this for under $20!! By this time Jake called for a ride so I picked him up and went to one more. I found this cute print for Jaclyn's dorm room...
As well as this treasure chest...I got them both for $7! I am still deciding if the chest is a keeper or not. If it is a keeper I want to try the heirloom white that you all love. If I decide to put it in my booth should I keep it as is? Let me know what you would do! There were a few more sales that I wanted to hit but I needed to get back and get ready for my shift at the shop, which made Jake happy. While I was making the rounds all morning my husband left very early to go fishing out on his boat. He took this photo of the sunrise as he made his way down the Cape Cod Canal...Beautiful isn't it! Thank you Linda at Coastal Charm for hosting Nifty Thrifty Tuesday and thank you all for stopping by

Love your goodies and your makeovers will be wonderful!! I purchased a vanity table like yours for a whopping $2 at a garage sale a few years ago and it was already chippy white. I love it!! I kept it and put it on my back porch!
Happy Tuesday!!

WOW...you are so lucky - what great finds! I just tried the Heirloom white paint and I HATED it...it is way too yellow for my taste...so I will be curious to hear what you have to say about it. I bought a small smoking stand on Sunday and used it on that this weekend and was so disappointed. I am "doodling it up" this week and when I post it, I will let you know. Loved the photo of the RR bridge - can't wait to get to the Cape :-)

Such fabulous finds and for fantastic prices. Lucky you! I think everything else will be great painted white, but that little treasure chest has so much character the way it is. Love those frames and that sunrise is spectacular. But then again, every sunrise is beautiful! Wishing you a lovely day! :) Tammy

Great finds! As far as the chest, that's a toughy! I have had many pieces I contemplate taking some white paint to or not... Good luck and I'm sure the results will be amazing!
