time flies...

Hello and Happy September!
I can't believe it has been a month since my last post!
Time flies when you are having fun!!
I enjoyed a wonderful Summer at the campground with my family and friends and am looking forward to enjoying the early Fall as well since we do not close up until Columbus Day!

However, I have been slowly been getting back into things here at home as well as gearing up for the
Vintage Fall Market Weekend
which will be held on September 28th and 29th!

My kids did a good job keeping up around the nest but I am in the midst of Fall cleaning, including Jake's room since he is now settled at school for his sophomore year of college!
Oh how time flies!

I played around in my studio a bit yesterday, cleaning up and moving a few things around...

Here is a sneak peek at some of the treasures I am working on for the Fall show.  I am using a color palette of black, grey and blue sprinkled with a bit of rust and of course vintage whites...

I will be starting my first Fall project soon, making over my master bedroom, as well as working on a few other exciting adventures as well, so there should be lots to post about over the next few months!

Thank you so much for stopping by ~ enjoy your weekend!

Back in January they had asked for people to share a favorite item in their studio and I shared my chandelier...

Thank you Stephanie and Where Women Create for making my day!

hello 2013...

Hello 2013!
I decided to treat myself for the new year and keep a recent estate sale vintage find.
Sshh ~ don't tell Jim, he probably won't even notice...

The estate sale was a few doors down from my house...

I was one of the first people there and started buying things left and right...

The prices were amazing and I purchased quite a few large pieces...

The dining room was the last room I went in and when I saw this beautiful old chandelier I wanted it...

The price tag...$20!!!
Can you blame me for keeping it?
It is in wonderful condition and has all the fabulous crystal prisms.
I love the way it looks in my studio...

At some point I am going to have to tell Jim though.
I need his help wiring it up...

I will probably wait until I clear out the downstairs and bring the other pieces from the estate sale into the shop like this wonderful shabby old chair...

I love the fabric, it reminds me of our den growing up...

I also bought the matching 8 foot couch!

Although I did buy a cute pair of matching lamps that I brought right in the shop after the sale and sold them to Mary Ellen.
She used them in her living room makeover that she shared a few photos of on her blog.
I was lucky enough to see it in person and took some photos to share with you soon.

Oh...and I did keep another piece from the estate sale too for my Paris Hotel Suite.  I switched it out with another piece to make room for it and already sold the old one at the shop!
I will share the new look soon too.

For now, I am happy with my new chandelier...

Hello gorgeous!

I want to thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers for our friends who lost their home in a fire on Christmas Eve, I knew I could count on you!

Thank you for stopping by!

chocolat...

Thanks for your great comments on my last post.
It sure is good to know that I keep great company when I am a bit forgetful!

A few weeks ago I brought home a wonderful old wooden crate.
I forgot to take a before photo...oops!
I white washed it and used a vintage french inspired advertisement from The Graphics Fairy and ended up with this...

I put a light coat of stain over it before a few coats of wax.
It ended up in my studio...
Making lots of goodies like this for the Vintage Fall Market Weekend at the shop!

Joining Kathleen for White Wednesday ~ thank you for hosting!
I am also going to link up to Brag Monday over at The Graphics Fairy...thanks Karen!

Thank you all for stopping by today!
Chocolat for breakfast anyone?

hurricane sandi...

While hurricane Irene (thankfully downgraded to a tropical storm) blows around outside, clean up from hurricane Sandi began inside today.

My studio was just a mess (I am not brave enough to show you any photos).  I tend to make piles and piles of "stuff" in my studio during the summer.  "Stuff" I found while treasure hunting that I want to keep for myself or stuff headed for my booth that needs a little tweaking.  So, since I wasn't going anywhere today I started sorting through everything, concentrating on the treasures that would stay in my studio.

Remember these girls...
I love them and found a place for them to nest...

I think these beauties might just be a new obsession of mine...

I recently "met" Vanna from the fabulous blog Delusions of Grandeur and she did a post on her wonderful collection of boudoir dolls including some of these Munzerlite treasures.  When she saw I was looking for names for my girls she suggested I name one of them Vanna and she would name one of hers Sandi!  She thought Vanna would go nice with Vivienne...

Can you see that I draped some pretty ribbon over her to let her know I still love her too...
Oh and I also found this pretty little doll too ~ not sure if I am keeping her...
She is missing one arm and one leg and the ones she does have are detached.  She is still wonderful though!

I also kept these two books for their color and put together a little vignette...

I changed up the shelf over my desk by painting one frame white and changing out the other for a white one (they were both pink) and added the vintage inspired french tray I found at HomeGoods...

Let me move a few things so you can get a closer look...
Isn't it cute!

My studio really needs a deep cleaning and I would like to change it up a bit.  I would like to move everything out and start new but the room right outside my studio is full of pieces I am working on for our fall show at the shop.
I tend to jump from one project to another!
The room is at least neat and organized and I am ready to get back in the swing of things!

As I cleaned up after hurricane Sandi I tried to make a pretty pile of other treasures from summer hunting, Etsy purchases and giveaway wins that I would like to use in my studio makeover...
Did you notice that I went from changing things up a bit in this space to a makeover?!!
Uh oh!

Thanks for visiting and enjoy your week!

special treasure...

Did I ever show you this sweet gift from my talented friend Patti of Pandora's Box...
She made it from an old wooden cigar box...
She shabbied the outside...
as well as the inside...
She knows just what I like!!

I use it in my studio to hold some letter packets that my friend Sandi inspired me to make...

I love having special treasures like this in my studio ~ it is a daily reminder of the best part about blogging ~ making new friends!
Thanks again Patti!!

I am joining Kathleen at Faded Charm as she begins her next 100 White Wednesday posts!
Oh the inspiration that awaits!!

old tattered lampshade...

While I was spring cleaning my studio a few weeks ago I created this little vignette on top of the tall shelf that sits next to my work table...

I also used some of my flower frogs to display some business cards from some recent purchases I made...
Lovely ladies who inspire me daily.

Since then I changed out the sheet music...
I also hung up the old tattered lamp shade I got...
I think I like it...
But know it is not quite right yet.  Let me know what you think!

I'll be hanging out in here today getting "stuff" together to bring in the shop this afternoon when Jim gets home from work.  I sold quite a bit during the weekend sale including a few big pieces and need to fill in the spaces.

I had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend and hope you did too.
Thanks Jaclyn and Jake...love you both!!
Have a great week!
Brimfield on Wednesday!!
