white show sneak peeks...

I am almost ready to put down my paint brush and pack it all up for the fourth annual
At Home With White Show
at the Wrentham Country Store.

Would you like to take a little peek at what I have been working on?
Here are a few things that will be in my space inside the tent...

You can see more sneak peeks over on the shop's Facebook page too.

The show is next weekend, April 12th & 13th, 10 to 5 both days.

I will try and pop in next week with a preview of my space inside the shop.

tinkering...

Popping in today to say thank you for all the ideas and suggestions for the finish on my new~old desk top in my den!
I am still undecided...

I am still trying to keep costs down for all the makeover projects I have been doing this past Fall and Winter, trying to use what I have.
Unless of course I come across something wonderful that would look perfect in one of the made over rooms!
Anyway, I took out a piece that was next to the desk that held the printer and all the computer related stuff.
We relocated the printer and I didn't want to put another piece in but I had to hide all the wires.
Shopping my own house, this is what I came up with...

The window used to be in the living room, the small chest was in my master bedroom before the makeover and the other pieces were on a shelf over the computer which I haven't decided if it is going back up or not.
I am loving the grey, white, cream and natural wood combination.
I am not sure if this vignette will stay or not, just doing a little tinkering.
What do you think?

Speaking of tinkering, I am sure you have heard that my friend Elyse of Tinkered Treasures has penned a second book due out soon!!

There is a whole blog tour going on to celebrate with tutorials, giveaways and more!
Check out her blog for all the details!

filling in the blanks...

All the Christmas stuff is finally put away.
Well, almost all of it.
There is a little pile of things that needs to go up in the attic that I keep adding to when I come across something I missed.
Anyway, I know some of you will agree with me that it's a little discouraging to see so much "empty space" around the house after the holidays.
My home looked just fine to me before I decorated for Christmas and now it looks so bare.

Today I cleared out my den as I am preparing to give this room a little makeover...again.
I am giving the ceiling, walls and trim a fresh coat of paint.
The trim will go from cream to white and a pale grey will replace the Swiss Coffee on the walls.
To be honest, after looking at way more than 50 shades while making over my master bedroom, I really don't want to look at another grey paint chip.  I might just go with the grey from my master bedroom at 50% intensity.
(And I promise, the reveal on that makeover really is coming soon!)

In the midst of prepping the room I started filling in the blanks in my living room with some of my treasures from the shelf over our computer.  Here's what the shelf looked like at Christmas...

I put a few of the pieces on my dry sink...

Looking for a new quote for my chalkboard ~ care to share your favorite?

Then I put a few more at the end of my couch, also replacing the french window with my chippy old shutter and a vintage mirror that were in the den as well...

I feel like I gave my living room a no cost makeover today just by using items from a different room!

To be honest, I am a little nervous about putting a color on the walls in my den, which is open to my living room.
I do like the creamy white and how the two rooms flow perfectly, but I am ready for change and it is only paint.  If I don't like it I can change it back!
My master bedroom is a combination of grey, white and cream and I am loving the look of it so I am confident that all my treasures in the den will look just great against the new wall color.
(Maybe even a few new treasures too....sshh, don't tell Jim!)
Eventually the living room will be painted to match the den...eventually.

So, if you have found yourself staring at a lot of empty space after the holidays, try filling in the blanks with some pieces from another room and treat yourself to a no cost makeover!

vintage nightstand...

Do you ever have so many projects going on at once that some mornings you do not know which one to work on so you don't do anything at all?
Or, even worse, start a whole new project?
That is just what I did today.
Please tell me at least one of you are guilty of this too!!

One of the projects I have been working on is my Master Bedroom makeover.
Here is a look at it before...

The walls before were blue and now they are grey.
Although my family says there is no difference at all now.
The bureau on the left has already been painted and has been moved to the other side of the room.
While treasure hunting this past weekend, I found a unique piece to replace it.
It is two vintage nightstands that were attached to make one beautiful piece...

This is perfect storage for all my jewelry and accessories...

You can see a little peek at my new curtains and my new bed side lamps in the mirror (which used to hang over my bed).

This is the duvet I want from Pottery Barn (just waiting for a new catalog and hopefully a 15% off coupon)...

I still have a long way to go in this room but thought I would share a little sneak peek with you.

Later this week I will share with you the new project I started, and actually finished today!

I also love the reflections in each of these photos...

Now I am off to make some more flour sack towels to add to my space at the shop.

vintage lizzie...

We have a new Shop Girl at the Wrentham Country Store!
I took a few photos last week of Liz's new space, just look how cute her sign is...

When I saw her booth all I could think of was all the summers I spent on Cape Cod at my Nana's cottage...

Her handmade pillows are just beautiful...

Sweet chenille covered lampshades...

Shabby, chippy colors of summer...

Just lovely, don't you agree?!!

I am working this afternoon and am looking forward to seeing what else she has brought in!

Looks like Liz is back to blogging too ~ you can find her blog here.
Stop by and welcome her back and tell her I sent you!

Welcome to the shop Liz!

At Home With White Show part 2...

Good Morning!
Today I am going to share with you the other side of the tent from our third annual
At Home With White Show
(If you missed part one you can see it here.)

Relax and enjoy...

Mary Ellen had center stage inside the tent.  She puts the most beautiful vignettes together...

Every year Mary Ellen brings her fabulous trophies from home and fills them with flowers for the check out tent...she could sell them over and over again if they were for sale...

Another one of our new shop girls from last Fall, Chris Glynn of Tutti Chic Designs (and blog) did an amazing job at her first white show...

Next up is Louise's space that was full of beautiful treasures...

I love the hutch and think I just put one on my wish list...

This year I split a tent space with Karen K. since I have my bigger space inside the shop.
We had fun working together and on set up day our pieces blended together perfectly...

Thank you Karen...it was so much fun working with you!

In my next post I will share some photos from inside the shop...stay tuned!
