second thoughts...

I have been busy this week working on some new items for my booth...
Yesterday I finished up the the final coat of paint on a few items and started tagging them...
As I looked at this old beauty and admired it's gorgeous detail...
I realized I now have second thoughts on selling it...
Jim has been reminding me lately of the old rule ~ "one treasure in two treasures out" ~ of course you know I had to do a bit of creative writing on his reminder.

I am joining Debra for Vintage Inspiration Friday today.

Looking out my window this morning...
Seeing Jake head out to school...
And get in his very first car...
I'm so proud of you Jake!  Drive carefully please...
On second thought...didn't I just teach him how to ride a bike?
Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for stopping by!!

I love the platter as a chalkboard !! That is such a great idea ~ I kind of hoard silver platters so it would be great to do something different with them :)

Oh my goodness doesn't time just fly!!

I know that passage of time all too well Sandi! I just posted on facebook that my baby will be 27 years old in five days and I just brought him home from the hospital!
Love your silver platter and I would have second thoughts too. That is why I have so much STUFF that I can't seem to part with. I need to pare down more though. I have piles for the church garage sale and I thought I was doing great until hubby looked at it all and said, "That's it"??? hee hee Isn't he the funny one!
Have a super day!!
Hugs~

Love what you did to that tray.
Making a chalkboard. Yes my dh tell me the same thing. You keep bringing things home.

Oh-I so remember those days of watching the kids drive away for the first time and offering up a little prayer for their safety...praying that other drivers around them would drive as safely as we had taught our own child to drive.

Love your platter-I would have a hard time parting with it too. pssst...will he even NOTICE if you keep it? That's the test!;>) xo Diana

I love it,I know I'd keep it... how did you get such a perfect circle with the chalkboard paint on it? I tried yesterday with a plate and had to throw it away just couldn't get it to look right!
I remember those days with the first cars and driving, glad in a way those are over:)

I'm late stopping by for WW! You have some sweet new things there. Love the chippy metal heart and that crown! Yes, that tray turned chalkboard is going to make somebody happy. Maybe you! I love the shots of your boy and his car. Definitely been there. Bittersweet.

Deep breath, passages.
Love what you are doing with silverplate and chalkboard paint.
I really need to follow the 'two out one in' rule. Really.

I have the same "problem" I get things to sell then I want to keep them sigh! I'm keeping more than selling, going broke lol! I really cried the first day of kindergarten of my son, he'll be turning 9 next month, life goes too fast.
Have a lovely weekend!

I love silver so I would probably keep it. With all the dust we've been having the past several days, I am beginning to feel the need to purge. Too much stuff is making me a bit crazy. My oldest is at the age I was when I took driver's ed -- but sadly, it is not offered in this country. In fact, no one can drive until they are 18 and then they only take about 8 lessons in a car with a "teacher" who makes sure they know how to drive. They certainly don't teach them rules or respect. :/ I will have to think about coming to the States next summer and signing him for something then. Have a great weekend. Tammy

They do grow up fast. Mine are 25 and 28 and it seems like yesterday they were going to Kindergarten. Enjoy every minute. Thanks for visiting my blog and hope you are having a great weekend!

Hi Sandi,
The silver tray is absolutely gorgeous. I did one, but I polished it. However, looking at yours, leaving the patina actually is just gorgeous. I will be doing another one this summer and leaving the patina on it for sure. By the way, I love your creative writing of what your husband said. I totally understand that ...lol

Hi Sandi! I've been playing with chalkboard paint, too! In fact, I'm doing another project tomorrow! Woo hoo!!! Love your platter - it turned out so sweet! I can see why you don't want to get rid of it. :)
Is your son still in school? I thought school was out for the summer?

Wow, he's driving?! Hang in there Mom. You can't sell that gorgeous platter! I think I love the tag you made for it just as much!

The platter is beautiful, I can see why you had seconds thoughts on it. Time goes by so fast doesn't it. My daughter will be driving in three years and I cringe at the thought. :)

Love that chalkboard platter. Lately, I think my rule should be one thing in, five out. I feel like I have so much stuff.

Time does seem to just zip by doens't it? My kids are getting so big, it makes me want to cry!

I would have a hard time giving up that silver platter too! It's such a pretty piece and makes a great chalkboard.
I hear you on the growing up too fast part....the time between putting my son on the bus for his first day of kindergarten and watching him leave for his first year of college seemed to go by so fast!!

I would have a hard time parting with that tray also. And one thing about knowing the rules, is so you know how to break them
Blessings this week and happy summer
