projects and spring break...

The project for last weekend I told you about in my last post ended up being the first project of this weekend.
Did that make sense?
Jim ending up working last Saturday and, well, we started another new project on Sunday.

There is so much going on around here I don't know if I am coming or going.
Between finishing up the den and starting the living room new project, as well as working on all the pieces for the fourth annual At Home With White Show at the Wrentham Country Store I seem to be up to my new short haircut in paint!
By the way...are you planning on coming to the show?

Jim surprised me today with the new desktop from all the old wonderfully weathered wood he found curbside a while ago.
I wanted to leave as is but it wasn't practical or smooth or splinter free.
Details, details.
However, he did a beautiful job and I love it...

I wanted a new desk for the room but Jim liked the old one.
So with a new~old top I am happy now.
I am still undecided if I will paint the bottom, white/grey wash the top or leave as is and just seal the wood.
Your thoughts?

There is still a lot to do here in the den.
Then there is the new project, as well as putting together my outside space and inside space for the White Show on April 12th and 13th.

What's a girl to do with all this on her plate?
Enjoy a week with her son who is home on spring break!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

number 3...

Happy September!
Thank you all for checking in to see how both my moves went!
I am quite settled in my new space at the shop and will be sharing some pictures real soon.

We also moved Jake into his dorm this past Sunday morning.
It took 35 minutes.
It took us at least 2 hours to move his sister in years ago!

He is having a great time!
As for me ~ I am doing pretty good.
Most of the time.
I am keeping busy doing lots of projects for my booth and doing a bit of fluffing at home.

I don't think I ever showed you my Ramsign enamel sign I won in a giveaway from Faye a while ago...

Thanks again Faye!!

I live at #3 on my street but it is reminding me that there are only 3 of us at home right now  :(  .
See, I told you, most of the time.

Thank you for stopping by!
I guess I will go cheer myself up and be inspired over at Kathleen's White Wednesday!

four adults...

Today brings a new change to my family.
There are four adults living here now.
That box that drops down with children's ages up to 17 is no longer an option when filling out paperwork for me.
Where does the time go?

Happy 18th Birthday Jake!!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

happy june...

Remember the wonderful old tin piece that I found when I went treasure hunting with my girlfriends...

I sold the fruit picker and the bed!

It never made it to the shop ~ I put it in the den...

I put my cute little book bundle on the shelf with it...

I think a tattered bundle or two might look good on the other end.
I love it...

I am joining these lovely ladies today...

and

Thank you ladies!

It looks like a rainy Saturday this weekend.
What is a camper to do in the rain ~ go shopping of course!
I need to start shopping for Jake's graduation party next weekend as well as hitting the antique shops downtown.
I am hoping to find some new treasures to fluff my booth with for the new month.
Happy June!
I have a busy week ahead with Jake's senior prom, senior banquet night and he graduates next Friday with a party to follow on Saturday.
Between all that and booth fluffing, I don't know how much blogging I will be doing.
At least I might be too busy to get too teary eyed.
Ya, right.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful weekend!

before or after...

I am popping in this morning to share another new vignette that is the result of my spring cleaning.

This dry sink greets you at the top of the stairs when you come in my home...

Before

But you might remember last week that I was inspired to put this mirror over my mantel.

After

Can you see that a few of the panes of glass in the window are slightly tinted a blue green?
It compliments the eggs under the cloche...

I love this old mirror.
It was the beginning of my collection...

To be honest ~ I love the simpler before look but this is a nice change for a while...

I guess I will have to find another wonderful old mirror to put back there!
Vintage mirror shopping is one of my favorite things to do!
Which look do you like ~ before or after?

I am joining Kathleen for White Wednesday.
I think I will go peek at some inspiration before I go with Jake to get him fitted for his tux for senior prom next week.
You know I will be bringing tissues.

Thanks for stopping by!

memories...

Always in my heart...

As we approach another milestone in my family, I wish my parents and my mother in law were here to see Jake graduate.
I know they are so proud!
While we will be celebrating Memorial Day this weekend and kicking off another summer, I will be holding my happy memories a little tighter.
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday weekend!

new signs and recent finds...

I popped in the shop bright and early this morning to add a few new things to my booth.
Remember the sign I shared last week...

It landed in my booth along with another one I did...

My other attempt at some free hand detail...

I browsed around and took a few photos of some new treasures to add to the Recent Finds page on the shop's website.
I am in love with this new cabinet...

Gorgeous right?!!

Can you keep a secret?  I bought a new mirror...

Ssshhh...don't tell Jim, I am hoping he won't notice.
Besides, I am going to stick to the rule and bring the old one it is replacing to the shop.

If I can switch hats for a moment from Shop Girl to Proud Mama.
I just wanted to let my son Jake know how proud I am of him for all his accomplishments during his first and last season of high school Cross Country.  We attended the end of year banquet last night and he was given the Coaches Award!
His senior year is going by so fast...

Congratulations Jake!!

Thanks for visiting today!

more progress...

Who would have thought that an October snow storm could be so inconvenient!
We awoke to no power on Sunday morning but were lucky enough to have it back on by Sunday evening.
However, we had no phone, cable or internet until late yesterday.
So I am quite behind on my posting and my visits and hope to catch up with what you've all been up to very soon.

Want to know what I have been up to?
Nothing too exciting...just making more progress by crossing some projects off my old to do list!
First I can cross off painting the rest of the trim in the hallway since I applied the second coat!
Next, I put a coat of primer on my front door and hope will be putting a coat (or two) of the new color sometime within the next week.  When I finish that project I will share some before, during and after photos.
Then, since I have been keeping my studio pretty neat and organized I decided to tackle the room right outside my door.
You might remember this mess from last January...

...and how I mentioned that my whole downstairs needed a makeover and some organizing.  The space above has finally been finished.  I gave it a fresh coat of paint before I had my surgery in February and Jim installed shelving to hide crafting supplies and items I have for sale in my Etsy shop.  While everything was organized it looked a mess!  Jim finally put up a pipe so I could hang a drop cloth curtain.  I attached it by using curtain rod clips (no sewing!).  Here is what it looks like now...

I know it needs to be ironed but I was waiting because I was wondering if I should run it through the washer and dryer first?  Maybe it will make it a bit softer and maybe I wouldn't have to iron it!  Let me know if you have any tips.

I was going to change out the rug but have decided to work with it for now...

I found this cute black table at a yard sale a few weeks ago and decided to keep it for myself (and why not for $5.00).  It ended up being the perfect place for my fleur de lis shutter...

I added my cherished copies of JDL...
I can't wait for the Christmas issue!

I also changed my hutch a bit...

Now the area is neat and organized...

Well, this half anyway...the other half has all my pinks from my booth and some Christmas projects ready to be worked on!
Rome wasn't built in a day!

I have also been working on new items for my booth which I will share next week.
It feels so good to be getting things accomplished!

Jim and I also took Jake on his first college tour this week!
His senior year is going by very fast...too fast!
I am missing him already.

Thank you all for stopping by today...I've missed you too!

vintage classroom charts...

Hello and Welcome!
I would like to say thank you for keeping my secret on my new collection from Jim.
You all are the best!

Today for Vintage Inspiration Friday I have these vintage classroom conception charts from the '60s to show you...

These belong to my friend Sue (hi Sue!) and are in wonderful condition.  There are five sets of twelve cards and only one is missing...

I just love the old graphics and the colors are great too.  There are ones that teach about the weather...

A set all about animals...

Another set teaches about sight and sound...

And another is all about plants...

My favorite set is the kindergarten one.
I have been feeling a little sentimental this week.
My baby started his senior year of high school on Tuesday.
Where did the time go?
Heck, where did the years go...

This next one reminds me of Jake being my happy little camper during past summers and now he is driving off to school...

Hmmm...do you think he might like to drive this to school...

What a beauty!
A customer pulled up in this a few weeks ago and I snapped a quick photo.

Thanks for hosting today Debra and thank you all for stopping by and taking a peek at these great old charts...

Look for these in my Etsy shop soon!

Have a wonderful weekend!

second thoughts...

I have been busy this week working on some new items for my booth...
Yesterday I finished up the the final coat of paint on a few items and started tagging them...
As I looked at this old beauty and admired it's gorgeous detail...
I realized I now have second thoughts on selling it...
Jim has been reminding me lately of the old rule ~ "one treasure in two treasures out" ~ of course you know I had to do a bit of creative writing on his reminder.

I am joining Debra for Vintage Inspiration Friday today.

Looking out my window this morning...
Seeing Jake head out to school...
And get in his very first car...
I'm so proud of you Jake!  Drive carefully please...
On second thought...didn't I just teach him how to ride a bike?
Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for stopping by!!
