winter white ledge makeover...

While I enjoy feathering my nest for the holidays every year, I have found this year to be the most fun.  Although I probably thought that last year and probably will next!  Keeping things simple is one of the reasons why and the other is that there will be less to put away!!  When it came to the ledge above my white couch I wanted to keep it simple and winter white...
Here are some close ups...

Vintage treasures in winter whites and a bit of sparkle along with  Loving Christmas Wishes from a kind faced Santa...

A bit of greenery and more sparkle...

And of course another Santa to make sure you are being nice...
And another...

It has been so much fun visiting all your wonderful blogs and seeing so many simple, beautiful and inspiring holiday vignettes!  Kathleen is hosting another White Wednesday at Faded Charm which means another fun filled day!!  Thank you for stopping by!

christmas past...

When I first started my holiday nest tour last week I mentioned how I felt my style has changed in a year.  It actually has been slowly changing over the years.  However, like me, I am sure many of you still save a few pieces that you just can not part with.  Pieces that hold special memories of Christmas past.  I usually display these treasures downstairs but since that whole space is under going a little makeover (more on that after the holidays) I picked out a few favorites and put together a little vignette in my entry way this year...
The Christmas tin sign was a gift from my husband when we were first married...
I collect Santas, especially when they have such a beautiful face.  The two cone shaped Santas were my Mom's, again love their faces...

I don't know what they are made of but it feels like a soft leather!  I also printed out some Christmas sheet music from the Graphics Fairy and added some Scrabble letters...

I had a gathering on Friday night and put together little favor bags for my girls (thank you Ladies and Gents for a wonderful evening!)...

I am in love with these petite Flora Doora bags (thank you Jane!) that I got on Etsy.  They are lined with plastic so you can add some fresh cut flowers too!  The burlap ones are my favorite but I love red ticking at the holidays and put one on the back of my front door...
Under the table (which I am on the fence on painting) is this cute red chair that would go in front of the fireplace at Christmas when I was little...
Not much natural light shines in this spot of my house, let me turn the lights on...
Petite and sweet!!  I am not much of a tablescaper but I did put this together for my gathering...

Also in my kitchen I have Jim's stocking that his Mom made for him when he was little...

Isn't it wonderful!  I do not know what those spots are and I am afraid to wash it.  I am not sure why we hang it on the back door knob but that has been it's place of honor since we moved in.  Well, thanks for visiting today and taking a little peek of some of my treasures from Christmas past.  I hope you all have a wonderful week!

christmas music...

Good Morning!!  Debra is hosting her Vintage Inspiration Friday again today at Common Ground ~ don't you just love  her new button...
Today my little holiday nest tour continues with a bit of a music theme.  I put this simple vignette together and my Mom's old music book was the starting point...

There is a little peek of my tree in the reflection!  I love the graphics on the cone don't you...
I wanted the vignette on this table to go with this sweet Christmas sheet music banner I put on my mantel mirror (which I do not use on my mantel!)...
Each "flag" is a different Christmas carol and the edges are trimmed in glitter...
Another peek at my tree!  And yes, it sits right next to my ugly old computer table and chair (hoping to find new ones soon...still trying to talk the Mr. into the chair Hilary!)  Well, since I sort of showed you a bit of the desk I will share with you how I tried to make it look pretty for the holidays.  Above the desk on the message board I put the advent calendar I made for myself...

Then I took the old drawer with metal dividers out of my craft room and put it on the corner of the desk...

I added a few little flower frogs and some petite white bottle brush trees but I think it might need something else.  Any suggestions?  I am sure a bit of browsing through all the other VIF links over at Common Ground will probably give me a few ideas!

I hope you all enjoy your day ~ mine started off just fabulous ~ I won the beautiful giveaway over at Dreamy Whites!!  Thank you so much Maria!  Am I a lucky girl or what!!!

santa's entry way...

I am so happy you came back for another peek at my holiday nest!  Today I am sharing my fireplace for White Wednesday...

I am loving the old mirror!  I usually use fake greenery since Jake and I have a lot of allergies and I do not have to worry about them drying out!  I found these little picks years ago...
The greens are a softer color with blue berries.  I got the pearl like fillers from Pottery Barn after Christmas one year and instead of candles I rolled some sheet music...

One of my favorite pieces for the mantel is the Santa stocking holder I found at Homegoods ~ wish they had 3 more...

I love the little tree in his sack...
Some jingle bells and one of my favorite ornaments dress up my chippy white sled...

I fell in love with this arrangement at the shop that was in Jeannie's booth and knew I had the perfect spot for it...

What are the holidays without a few little bears...
We usually hang our stockings by the chimney with care on Christmas Eve.  I would love some vintage white ones but my kids are very traditional and would not like the change.  The ones we have are pretty velvet stockings in hunter green and cranberry with little jingle bells.  So, what do you think of Santa's entry way?  I love how it came out!  Thank you for hosting Kathleen ~ I am off to Faded Charm to see all the wonderful whites!  Thank you for visiting!!
