brimfield 2012...

Well, I made it to Brimfield and saw some gorgeous stuff!
Take a peek at this booth (I never got their names but they were a nice couple from Maryland)...

I would have loved this headboard for my Paris Hotel Suite...

But it was so expensive!
I thought the prices were very high throughout the fields (my husband was in shock)!

Corabelle Rose's space is always a treat to walk through...

There were lots of letters to be found.
I really wanted some of these...

We were there by 8 am and despite the weather it was very, very crowded.  As we walked through many booths there were piles of items in the corners with sold tags on them like this wonderful old sign in Jackie's Bliss Farm Antiques booth...

I did not get as many photos as I would have liked.
Lots of vendors said no when I asked to take a picture and the weather was a bit on the drizzly side too.
Sometimes I just got lost in thought as I wandered around.
Then as I left a field and was walking down the main road I could not believe my eyes.  Rachel Ashwell was walking toward me!
I was absolutely star struck!
I said "Hi Rachel!!" ~ she looked around to see who spoke and then she said in her wonderful British accent with a smile, "Oh, Hello!".
I kept walking with my heart beating so fast and turned to Jim who had the biggest smile on his face and then he asked why I didn't ask for a photo!
I was just so caught off guard that I did not even think of it.
It was a true pixie dust moment for me!

Jim and I met up with Mary Ellen for lunch and then hit a few more fields together afterwards.
As we were walking Mary Ellen noticed Bronson Pinchot!!
I was not going to let this opportunity pass me by...

He and his crew were so friendly and funny!  They told us they were currently filming the first episode of their second season of The Bronson Pinchot Project right in Brimfield!

Mary Ellen and I were like giddy school girls for the rest of the afternoon!

I did manage to find a few treasures to bring home with me like this beautiful old portrait from the 70s...

A few pieces to satisfy my industrial craving...

Not sure what I am going to do with these yet...

I love this old mirror frame and might add some screening and make an earring holder for Jaclyn...

These are my favorite finds...

Sweet little french book...

Love the cover of this arithmetic book...

And a few old zinc pots...

Last but not least are these old fence tops...

Personally this is not a venue for this shop girl to find many things to add to her booth.  It is rather a place to find something for myself.
Although we did see a booth or two with a few treasures from The Wrentham Country Store for sale!
They know where to get some vintage goodies at a great price!

I am sharing my Brimfield adventure with Debra for

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and thanks for visiting!

I almost forgot...congratulations to Sandy from For The Love Of White ~ email me your address and I can mail off your copy of Romantic Prairie magazine!

brimfield finds...

On Monday I showed you a few photos I took at Brimfield.
Today I want to share what I brought home...
This wonderful old table in turquoise...
Love the detail on the knob...
I put it in my booth on Tuesday and it sold that afternoon!
Next up is this sweet old stool in turquoise too...
I brought it to the shop as well and added it to our porch and garden display along with this wonderful old white step ladder...
I think I am having seller's regret...I just might have to bring it back home!
I also found this great old medicine cabinet...
Wondering if I should leave it in all it's chippy glory or give it a coat of the new Martha Stewart gray paint I just bought...
I found a wonderful vintage wedding photo...
Just look at her bouquet...
I also picked up this great old mantel mirror...
It was my deal of the day!  Just look at the detail...

I will be giving this a coat of white and am thinking of switching it out with one I already have in my den.  We shall see.

This next treasure is a definite keeper...
I have always wanted to start a collection of vintage seltzer bottles...
Now I have!
I am joining Common Ground for Vintage Inspiration Friday.
Thank you for hosting Debra!

It is a big weekend here for my family.
My daughter Jaclyn is graduating from UMass/Dartmouth on Sunday!!
We are so proud of her!
We have had a week of rain...but I think the sun might just shine down on us on by Sunday!
Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

back to my room...

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend! The weather could not have been more perfect for us here in New England ~ perfect for my first weekend of camping! Can you believe I did not take any photos, go to any yard sales, work on any of my projects or visit many blogs? At first I felt a bit guilty but then I realized I just needed to enjoy opening weekend for what it is. It was time to catch up with my camping neighbors, walk some winter pounds off, get a jump start on my tan, enjoy the campfire, relax and laugh ~ and that is just what I did!! Thank you to my Pinewood Friends for a wonderful weekend with many more to come! To my faithful blog friends I promise to take some photos next weekend ~ weather permitting!

Remember last week when I shared my fabulous new find and the relaxing side of my room ~ well today I am going to share the working side which is still quite neat at the moment! This is the room...the one with the pearl "S" on the door...
Linda over at Painted Whyte suggested I call my room the inspiration room. Great name to work with, thanks Linda. Now the floor is the original hunter green tile so when I found this rug at the Christmas Tree Shop I knew it would tie in the floors with the pale aqua I wanted on the walls... This little bookshelf fits perfect between my chair and desk to hold some supplies as well as all the business, Moo or thank you cards I received from my favorite Etsy or Ebay sellers. I display them in my old flower frogs which I will be on the hunt for in Brimfield... I bought a lot of horse and show ribbons for my booth but of course I kept these pretty cream and pink ones for myself... See the gold mirror tucked next to the chair a few pictures up? I am planning on making an inspiration board out of it unless I find a prettier frame in Brimfield. I love the little pink holder below the lamp and look what is tucked in it ~ a vintage French catechism book... I found this little cubby on Ebay years ago which is perfect for holding my paints... Pale aqua tole piece makes a pretty catch all... I remember the day I got my first business cards it was so exciting... Old sewing drawer shabbied up makes pretty storage... Look at the beautiful photo for May on my wonderful calendar I got from Vintage Rescue Squad, the colors are perfect for my room! Vintage tulle petticoats are on my Brimfield list too...
This calendar is great giving dates for all the big junkin' spots throughout the year. One more week for me... I used white twill curtains to hide most of my crafting and shipping supplies. I am looking for a little something to pretty up the top and hide the pipe that the curtains hang on... I try to keep my exposed storage pretty... See the "etc." ~ it was my Mom's. I remember her telling me that Mary (Mary Tyler Moore Show) had something similar hanging in her apartment on the show and she loved it. I bought this little bear for my Mom one year for Mother's Day... Then I have this great hutch. I use it to display my favorite new treasure of the moment mixing in supplies too... Look how cute this framed best wishes print looks with my favorite tea cup and salt shaker... There is always a little collection of treasures ready to go to my booth... I also put some of my vintage jewelry on my new mannequin... She is looking fabulous but I think is still missing something ~ what do you think? Also I am still thinking of the perfect name, preferably french. I would love to hear your suggestions too. Well thank you so much for stopping by. I love to read your comments and emails and appreciate your kind words and witty thoughts! Remember... Have a great day!!
