summer rental...

You know I love to dream in vintage whites...
And you know my cottage style home is mostly white and shabby...
There are a few areas of my house that are not chic in the shabby way...
But definitely have a cottage feel...
Look...you can still see the pencil lines...
I met my husband in Wareham Mass. where I used to spend summers at my Nana's cottage...
This sign was found in the house that Jim grew up in during the summer.  It was advertising a summer rental for a little cottage on the property back before his family owned it...
Now it graces the fireplace in our downstairs living room that my father-in-law built with his father.  Why did I pick this old beauty to share today...
This living room is on the winter project list.

Jim left on a trip last night until Monday and I miss him already.  Guess I was feeling a little sentimental.
So if you live in Virginia Beach and you see a very handsome fisherman...remember...he's mine.

While he is away there is a new man of the house...
He's on the Varsity Winter Track and Field Team and they must dress up the day before a meet.
Oh and remember the other day when it was snowing?  We lost power at noon.  Thank goodness we have a gas stove so I could finish cooking my pot roast.  And the new man of the house?  He still did his homework...
This is why he is an honor student!

I am linking up with Debra today for Vintage Inspiration Friday at Common Ground.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Go Pats!!

  2. Sandi- What a sweet and sentimental post. I love that you love your hubby and miss him already. And, although there is something romantic about having a candlelit home..I miss the conveniences when we lose power. Hugs-Diana
