thanks for the memories...

I remember spending summers with my Nana on the cape.
I couldn't wait 'til that last bell rang in June.
She would make breakfast every day with a smile.
Every sunny day spent was spent on the beach with friends.
Rainy days were always fun filled too.
With the beach in walking distance I would go home every day for lunch and fill my Nana in on all the fun so far that day.
Light dinners included BLTs (with extra bacon) or "your Mom isn't here till the weekend so let's have ice cream instead"!
Each night she would perfectly iron my outfits for those "summer nights".
Meeting up with my girlfriends and the cute boys (one of which I married).
Running home to make curfew.
And at night I would write letters on the summer porch (where I slept) to my friends at home, telling them what they are missing and wish they were there.

Those were the memories that hit me today when I spied this vintage mailbox at the shop...

Thanks Nana for all those summers on the cape and all the wonderful memories...miss you.
Thanks to Karen K. too for having this treasure in her booth that brought me back to the good ol' days!

shop whites...

I finally remembered to bring my camera yesterday so I could share some shop whites at Faded Charm for White Wednesday...

See anything you like yet...

Here a few things on my wish list...

It was a beautiful day yesterday and while I was snapping a few photos on the porch...

I happened to look up and saw this...
Now I knew the nest was there but I did not know the eggs had hatched.  Mama was very busy feeding her babies...
She patiently waited in the wings (no pun intended) while customers were browsing on the porch.  After she left the babies were so cute just sitting silently with their mouths open waiting for Mama to return.  I thought there were just two little ones ~ then all of a sudden I saw another one...
Mama was very busy indeed...

I am also joining Sarah at A Beach Cottage for Good Life Wednesday!
Thank you for stopping by!

Don't forget about the sale in my Etsy shop that I posted about here!

wedding whites...

While browsing through your favorite antique shop did you ever come across a display that you felt had a wonderful old story just waiting to be imagined... It draws you in to take a closer look... At the creative way it is displayed... Your heart skips a beat or two when you see all the lovely details... Then your mind starts to wander and you are caught up in your own thoughts...You start putting pieces of the story together in your mind. You might wonder which dress she chose...Did she have to wear this underneath...Perhaps this beautiful old trunk held her trousseau... Will they live happily ever after...
Mary Ellen and I had lots of fun putting this display together in her booth ~ thanks for letting me help Mary Ellen! The Wrentham Country Store is having a sale this weekend ~ if you live near by I hope you get a chance to stop in and let your mind wander too. Now go wander over to Faded Charm where Kathleen is hosting another wonderful White Wednesday! Thank you for visiting!!

the one that took my breath away...

Well Hello!! The lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer are here and we are having a heat wave! I think it must have hit 100 yesterday. I know it was very hot in the shop yesterday afternoon while I was there. Since I have been enjoying the lazy days of summer at my campground and have not done any feathering of my nest at home, I thought that for White Wednesday I would show off a few whites that the other shop girls have in their booths right now. I have not hit any yard sales since I returned from Aruba but I did a quick hit at the antique malls in downtown Plymouth. I found this sweet little lamp... I spied this beautiful lamp in Jackie's booth... I also fell in love with this lamp that Jeannie created... Isn't that so cute! Jeannie's is so creative ~ I get lots of inspiration from her booth! You know how I love sweet vintage books ~ well I found a beautiful one in Plymouth which I'll show you soon. My little collection is getting bigger so I decided to part with a few that I put in my booth...
Uh oh...having seller's regret already!! Okay...moving on...Pam has some pretty whites for your kitchen...

Lee has this sweet little cart that I think would be so cute on a porch filled with flowers... Betsy has this lovely old hand made eyelet lampshade... Then Karen has this sweet little canister set that I really should get for my craft room...
Mary has a message board with the prettiest frame...However, leave it to Maureen and Pete to have the piece ~ the one that took my breath away... Just look at the wonderful details...

Maureen and Pete...you two make it so hard to be good!! I soooo could not sneak this one in my house! I always say to myself ~ if it is here next week it's mine! We all know it will not be there ~ sigh. Like I mentioned it is the crazy days of summer too and I am finding myself picking up a book before I pick up my laptop to blog hop and visit all my favorites. So if you have stopped by to visit ~ thank you so much! I am almost done with my latest book (yes I am a Twilight fan) and will catch up on my visits before I pick up the last book. Before I go I thought I would also show you the sign I made for my booth...I need to get some more cards made up with my blog address and put them in a cute little holder and hang it underneath ~ soon! Thank you Kathleen for hosting today!! Have fun everyone over at Faded Charm for White Wednesday, the one day in blogland that I just can't miss!!
