lucky girl...

Happy Friday! It has been a long, busy week for me...the princess came home with all her "stuff". I think it all multiplied since she left with it in September!! It has all been somewhat organized and packed away until August ~ all in totes and plastic drawers ~ right outside my room. I do not think I will like looking at that all summer. Thank goodness I will be away alot. I have also been preparing for company tomorrow to celebrate my son's Confirmation ~ mostly cleaning as I am keeping appetizers simple and ordering pizza. I did not have anything planned to post today until I popped in over at Sandi's ~ drum roll please ~ I won her giveaway!!! Look at these beautiful french inspired garden markers...

Am I a lucky girl or what?! I call Sandi my fairy blog mother ~ she was there on day 1 of my blogging adventure to help me through a few behind the scene elements of my first post and always has time to help me when I need it. So, thank you Sandi for your friendship and for these little beauties!!

I actually took a few photos yesterday of the pretty flowers I bought for the party tomorrow...

I gathered a few other pitchers and will use them to hold forks, knives and spoons... I put a picture of Jake from his Christening and his First Communion into this old frame... It was so hot the day of his Christening and I put him in a little satin suit... My pride and joy...where does the time go...wasn't this just yesterday?! Um...please pay no attention to my hideous decor ~ what was I thinking!! Now for his First Communion (again keep your eyes focused on Jake)... So sweet!! The fireplace, not so much! If you take a peek here you can see what my fireplace looks like today ~ please!! I will take some pictures tomorrow of Jake and share them with you next week. For now I will share this one from our trip to Walt Disney World last year... I have had so many new visitors to my blog this week ~ it was nice meeting all of you. Thank you for stopping by today and enjoy your weekend!! This lucky girl will!

vintage black at the shop and my best friend...

Vintage Black Friday is being celebrated over at The French Cupboard today! Do you remember my first VBF post when I shared one of my sweet vintage books...I love this song book! Look ~ it includes a "May-Day Carol"... Of course I remember this today, not on May 1st! I have been known to do things after the fact ~ better late than never ~ like the Easter eggs I decoupaged. Anyway, I thought I would also share with you some vintage black treasures from some booths at the shop. I spied these cute little opera glasses... Perhaps a pair of these shoes were worn to the opera... There are some great vintage black tole pieces too. We also have wonderful tole trays showcased at the shop right now. To see the photos take a peek at the shop's blog... How great is this vintage dial typewriter... If you ever get a chance to visit The Wrentham Country Store please let them know you have visited my blog! I have hooked a few of the other shop girls to blogging and they would love to meet you!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Mother's Day! I found this sweet image while thrifting...My Mom and I really never celebrated Mother's Day. We always celebrated each day we were together...
She was the best and my best friend ~ miss you Mom! Trying to give my best to these two, my pride and joy... Well...have a wonderful weekend! Thank you so much for visiting and I love to read all your comments. Now go have fun and check out all the other vintage black treasures!

pride and joy...

When I posted the other day about my vintage jewelry collection I wanted to show you a photo of my beautiful daughter Jaclyn wearing my Mom's necklace to her senior prom. She went with Matt, just friends...

Just beautiful! She'll be 21 in September...where did the time go? My son Jake will be 16 in June, he plays soccer for the high school, he's in the green...
I love to watch him play, he plays hard and puts his heart and soul in every game. This next photo of them was from our trip to Disney World last March. We stayed at the Beach Club Resort and had the most amazing view from our room...

This family photo was taken on our last night at Epcot (our favorite) in Germany. Can't wait to go back!!

Thanks for letting me share my pride and joy. It's been just over two weeks since I started my little blog and I can't believe that people are following and leaving me wonderful comments. I've "met" so many nice people who with their kind words make me glad I took this path. Enjoy your weekend!!
