glamping...

Our 2013 camping season opened on May 1st and we enjoyed an extra long weekend in our new trailer!
We have come a long way since our first used 23' trailer that we bought almost 17 years ago.
This trailer is our 5th one and hopefully our last (you know how men are!).  We do spend a lot of time at the campground from May to October and we wanted to be more comfortable.
And we are ~ take a peek...

I guess I can't call it camping anymore, it's glamping now.
I am still getting use to the dark, new decor ~ it's very different for me.
Jim loves it!
I am trying to put some vintage touches around with the old seltzer bottle and GROCERIES sign that my sister in law Christine made.  I am also trying to lighten things up with the new pillows and bedspread as well as putting in pops of aqua and green.
It is very comfortable and cozy at night with the fireplace going under the television (it was chilly this past weekend).
It was nice to disconnect from the internet and catch up with my girlfriends.  We did some treasure hunting and had so much fun at our Cinco de Mayo party!
I also caught up with some magazines I bought a while ago...

I still have some fluffing to do inside and we need to do some work outside as well.
Can't wait 'til the weekend!

Thanks girls for a fantastic weekend!!
Remember, what happens at Pinewood, stays at Pinewood!

I am waaay behind on my visits and am looking forward to seeing what you all have been up to!
Thanks for stopping by!

summer treasure hunting...

I took some time off from soaking up some sun by the lake on Saturday to do some summer treasure hunting for my booth and my Etsy shop.

That means the campground was sold out and my the beach was going to be very crowded.

Want to see what I found?
I think I might have trouble parting with some of these treasures.

I have big plans for this chalkboard...

Hope I don't fall too in love with it.

I found this old wire dish rack to display some plates in my booth...
This one definitely gets a NFS tag.

These two white chippy pieces may have to just stay right here on my summer porch...

Love the color on this old oil can...
It might look cute on the shelf over my squeaky porch door!

I found this old sign and instantly fell in love...
Definitely a keeper...for now!

I also found a few old books...
I am thinking ahead to Halloween...
And Christmas...
Love the color of this old book from the 1800s...
As well as this one...

All so hard to part with.

I can hear Jim now...one thing in, two things out.
Silly rule.
Isn't summer a good time to break the rules?

Guess I should have stayed at the beach...
Those rules are easier to follow.

Thank you for visiting and enjoy your week!

lazy summer day...

I spent a lazy summer day today by the lake at the campground...

It was such a beautiful day I hated to come home...

Take a peek at these cute vintage camp stools I saw on Etsy...

Loving the color palette and it sure would brighten up the inside of my trailer!

Thank you for visiting and tell me, how will you celebrate the Fourth of July?

relaxing weekend...

I enjoyed a relaxing holiday weekend at my campground...

4:00 cocktail hour right here each day with my girls...

We let the guys hang out too...
I just love the new cushions and pillows I purchased at Target for my wicker set this year ~ perfect for my favorite room in the summer!

I also planted my flowers...

Jim dug out a new garden area for me...

Thanks Jim!

How was your weekend?
Thank you for visiting and I hope you have a great week!!

vintage trailers...

It's Friday!
It's also opening day at our campground!
I am so excited!

Our first trailer was a 23' 1978 Nomad.
Now the trailer was old and it needed a lot of work.
Unfortunately I do not have any photos of the inside.
Jim worked very hard for about a month or so replacing the floor and some of the walls.
We replaced the rug and I picked a coordinating color to paint all the walls ~ if I remember it was a pale shade of blue-gray.
My Mom bought me some sweet gingham curtains for the windows.
I do have a photo of the outside...
Sorry for the bad photo.  My scanner won't work so I just took a picture of the picture!

We have had a few trailers since that old beauty.
We now have an 38' 2006 Sandpiper.
I do love my trailer but would love to have an old one again so I could pretty it up like Amy did...

Simply adorable!

Now take a peek into Kerrie's...

Now I know for sure that the mister will not go for my idea of getting an old beauty to fix up and maybe use it to hit the road someday and go junkin...not yet anyway.
So for the time being I have a few ideas in mind for my home sweet trailer after seeing what Tot did to hers.  Her trailer's interior is similar to mine ~ it is generic and dark.
Here is her before...
And after, so light and pretty...
How cozy and comfortable does that look?!!!

Here is what I have to work with...
Stay tuned...

Well I would like to thank Amy, Kerrie and Tot for letting me share their photos with you today.
Also, thank you Debra for hosting Vintage Inspiration Friday over at Common Ground.

I am so glad you stopped by today and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
See you later girlfriends!

Hmmm...do you think William and Kate ever considered a camping honeymoon?

halloween fun...

Good Morning ~ I hope you all enjoyed your weekend! It was a busy one for me. Closing time at our campground is fast approaching and while I spent most of the weekend de-feathering my little nest on wheels, Saturday afternoon was set aside for the kids. My girlfriends went all out...Lisa brought pumpkins for carving, Beth and Karen brought games to play and Sue made cupcakes to decorate. Me...I brought my camera! They were excited to let the fun begin... The little ones patiently waited for help...When the tops were off they were ready to dig in...They all started with a spoon... But couldn't resist using their hands... We had lots of fun watching this little one dig right in... And this one peeking inside to see if she got it all... Now that the insides are out... They started to create their jack-o-lanterns ~ choosing a design... And bringing it to life...In the end they came out wonderful... After the mess was cleaned up there were games... That ended up a bit messy...Then it was on to the mummy wrapping...
Emily and Cody were such good sports... My son Jake had to work but drove by to see what was happening... On to cupcake decorating... I am sure after all the donuts, cupcakes and sweets some of the kids might have felt like this... We had a fun filled afternoon, followed by trick or treating... And the pumpkins looked great around the campfire... Thanks to all the kids on Horseshoe Hill for letting me share their fun here on my blog. Thanks to all of you for visiting today and don't forget...I am having a giveaway soon! Come back tomorrow for all the details! Have a great day!!
