I went treasure hunting with Mary Ellen this past Monday.
We had a great time!
In addition to finding some new pieces for our booths, we are starting to gather pieces for the next At Home With White Show at the shop.
While we did not hit the vintage jackpot we did find a few things.
Of course I found something for myself too...
Vintage books are one of my weaknesses and the colors on the top book of this sweet stack are perfect for my studio.
They are beautifully worn...
I would like to untie this pretty package and browse through the pages.
If you look closely, the book behind the top one is "The Adventures of Pinocchio"...
I would like to untie this pretty package, but just can't yet...
It is just too cute!
I think I will admire it for a while just like this...
Blogger is still not letting me visit some of you or let me leave comments on some of your blogs.
I feel like I am missing out on so much and hope it will be fixed soon!
I am joining in on the fun at Vintage Inspiration Friday and Feathered Nest Friday.
Love your book stack...such lovely faded colors...can't blame you for leaving that bow tied so sweetly!
ReplyDelete:)
Gorgeous covers, I don't blame you for not wanting to separate them yet.
ReplyDeleteBlogger has been a bugger lately.

I've always had a weakness for old books too. I like that first one, the colors are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteFaye
Sweet stack of books - love the colors of the covers!
ReplyDeleteOld books add such warmth to a vignette. Love the ones with beautiful covers. I'd leave the tie on also because it's such an attractive way to display them.
ReplyDeleteMary Alice
They look perfect the way they are. Enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteThey look perfect just the way they are, Sandi! Beautifully worn and aged and touched by decades of fingertips.... :)

Looks so pretty
ReplyDeleteOH I love old books...love the gray covers especially! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I buy old books just for the covers, but Elsie Dinsmore is a sweet girls book :) We have paperback reprints that my girls read when they were younger. How nice to find an older copy like this!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Marcia
You're little book stack is heavenly... oh my goodness
ReplyDeleteBlogger is not working right unless you use Google Chrome as your browser... Amy at Maison Decor told me that, and i discovered she was right. I'm kind of put off that i have to use their browser to be able to comment... but that seems to be the case... try and see if that helps...
Cindy
Best stacks ever Sandy
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos as always. Have a wonderful weekend
xoxo

That is a very pretty stack of books. I switched to a pop-up window like you have and that seems to have fixed the problem for those who couldn't comment on my blog before. Internet Explorer is a thing of the past and yet so many are still using it and experience problems because of the constant "upgrades" blogger is making. I downloaded Google Chrome last year when there were so many issues, and that fixed things for me. Have a wonderful weekend. Tammy
ReplyDeleteLoving the old books, I really like the first one. Happy Weekend
ReplyDeletepattie
I know that book weakness!!
ReplyDeleteSandy, I'm getting giddy thinking about your white event! I've already checked out the WCS info & marked it on my calendar.
ReplyDeleteI just love your wrapped stack of books! It does look too cute with that beautiful ribbon.
Have a great weekend!

This is gorgeous...the worn books with the ribbon...total eye candy! Beautiful...
ReplyDeleteI am having trouble leaving comments too..makes me nuts! Someone told me I need to change my browser to Chrome...I am clueless as to how to do that! lol
I think I will goggle it!
Good luck to you!

The color of the books, and the ribbon is perfect for your home, Sandi!!! So soft, and pretty.
ReplyDeleteGreat find!!!
xxoo
They are beautiful and I love the color and the ribbon. I hope blogger fixes itself soon, this seems to be going on for quite a while.

There are no words to describe this lovliness...bow and all! Enjoy your new treasure all wrapped up as long as you like. Either way, it's simply - perfect! Much love, Lisa
ReplyDeleteThe cover of the top book is so pretty! Why don't books look like that anymore?
ReplyDeletei so love the cover on the top book, but the whole package is super sweet!
ReplyDeletebe still my heart...those books are gorgeous! i too, as you know, have an "affinity" for old books! bought over a dozen just today as a matter of fact at my local used book store. can't help myself...my car just steers itself there! lol! i hope you have a lovely week-end mon amie! stay warm! ;)(how's Karen?? i miss her!)
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi~~ I know what you mean about vintage books.. I love them too. I love putting themes or color combos together. I also LOVE to see what they have handwritten inside and see where they have been etc.
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend:)
~Cheryl~
love them!
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteOh those vintage books are just divine! LOVE the texture and colors of this sweet stack! :) By the way, I've also had major probs in commenting other blogs as well, so you are not alone. Hopefully this glitch gets fixed soon! Take care and enjoy your weekend!
Hugs,
Jessie
these are so beautiful. I would also be itching to open the stack....I am lacking in patience.
ReplyDeleteIt was one of my new years resolutions, I guess it has not taken yet, ha ha.
Warm hugs from a snowy New York,
Evi
PS. How much did you get?
Those books look adorable all wrapped up and ready to go! You are a lucky girl!

I am so thankful for your kind comment on my post about contentment with my wee little house. God is good. I just love your blog and all of the treasures you find. My favorite is still the preserves crock in your header...I've scoured the internet looking for one like it but no luck so far!
ReplyDeleteI'm a sucker for old books too but I'm trying to resist buying any new ones unless they are particularly special. Those look particularly special!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty books...I am jealous...I haven't been junkin' in ages!
ReplyDeleteRene
The colors of the top book ARE fabulous, Sandi! And tied up with that gorgeous ribbon, they do look so pretty, but I, personally, would HAVE to browse the books...because books are a weakness for me, as well. ;)
ReplyDeleteI would love to have you join me for Time Travel Thursday. The current link is up through Monday night, and the new link goes up Wednesday. Hope to see you there!
Blessings,
Liz @ The Brambleberry Cottage
