vintage hats...

How was your weekend?
Mine went by way too fast!
Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day!  It was a bit windy, but I will take it!
Jim helped me put together my display downstairs for the event which is this weekend.
I spent most of the day working on vignettes and getting tags made.
I just have to price everything and pack it up for Friday's set up.
Jim and I also went for a walk...a long walk at a pretty good pace and I kept up!
Life is good!

While I was at the shop on Saturday I started browsing around to see what I could share with you today.  Karen K. added a few columns to her booth and it looks fabulous...

I am sure they will not last long in her space!  She also had a wonderful vintage typewriter...

So did Mary...

Then there are the hats...

Each holding a story or two of a special evening or holiday...
"In your Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it..."

Maybe you are an equestrian...
Or maybe you know someone that is getting married...

Maybe, just maybe you need a cute hat for Will and Kate's wedding...
Or maybe you just want a sweet little something to add to your Spring vignettes...
As for this next one, while it is a beauty, I am more interested in what you see in the mirror...
My The dresser I want.  Now let me ask you a question.  Take a peek again at this beauty...
See the bottom drawer...it has been sanded down to the bare wood.  It does not have any of this...
Now that I noticed it my eye goes right there.  Here is the question.  Would that make you change your mind on buying it?
Let me know, I am interested to hear your opinion!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you all have a great week!

  1. The dresser looks like it gets more distressed the lower you go...you could add a bit of paint to match it up
Can you do me a favor? Measure the width and length of the white buffet in Karen's booth and send it to me with the price...I will be coming thru the middle of May :-)

  2. Love your photos! And no, I wouldn't change a thing on that gorgeous dresser. I would put some vintage wall paper in the drawers and keep coming in and out of the room to look at it;) lol That is what I do when I add something new to the house. lol Let us know if you get it:)

  9. I think the dresser is great....I like variations in wood and find it adds so much character then something polished and put together.

and speaking of hats i found an amazing one at the Alameda Flea!

  11. I have to admit, I thought exactly the same as Patti in her comment. Each drawer seems to have slightly less than the one before. I at first thought add some paint, but the graduated look is unique.

  14. NO! I don't think it's that noticeable and you could throw some paint on in a similar color and sand it if it really bothered you. I think it's a great piece!

Thanks for stopping by and joining our Jazz giveaway. Have a terrific week!

  15. Such wonderful finds. It's so hard to pick a favorite and I know I would have a lot of fun there - much to my husband's chagrin!

  16. Hi Sandi, I didn't even notice the sanded bottom drawer until you mentioned it. If you like it that much, get it! You don't want to regret it later. :) Glad to hear you had a great weekend. We've had a blustery day with lots of dust for the past two days. :/ What kinda Spring Break weather is this? Have a great week. Tammy

  19. Hmmm. I absolutely LOVE old worn furniture and things BUT personally, it would bother me too. I think I'd remove that drawer entirely and move the top drawer down in its place. Then I'd put baskets or something in the open space on top. Then you have a really cool drawer to do something creative with. OR, I'd put that plain drawer in the top space and do something totally different to it, like covering it in old book pages, sheet music, a mosaic, hand painted roses, etc. Just my opinion. ;).
Have a inspiring and blessed week!

  20. Thank you for the tour. I'm so glad to hear that you're feeling good and out for long walks!! I love that dresser and wouldn't let the bottom drawer scare me away. Actually, I like the inconsistent look. You could always add a very faint border around it (like the other drawers) and then rough it up.

  24. Morning Lovey....!

THANKS for these YUMMY pics....ESPECIALLY that killer dresser & red velvet hat....**sigh**....What I WOULDN'T give for that dresser.... :o) !!

I have one similar (distress wise that is) which I bought home EVEN THOUGH my eye was drawing to the bottom drawer which seemed 'not quite right'....I HAD intended to whitewash over it & sand it back a bit but NEVER did 'cause it seems like it SHOULD be that way.... :o) !

It's gonna come down to what YOU can deal with....I reckon it's a GRABBER though....GRAB IT before someone else does....hahahahaha....!!

THANKS so much for keeping up with my adventures while I was away....It was FUN being able to share it with you....!!!!!

    Cheers for now from Oz,
    Tamarah :o)
