I knew I would be staring at these old walls and start critiquing everything I have and just want to start over...
The inspiration files came out, old magazines were being flipped through...
Until one day last week when a visiting nurse came by and she said that my home was so pretty and that it looked like a french country farmhouse...
It was the perfect compliment from someone that has never been in my home before and does not know me! When I told Jim how happy that made me, he was happy too. He was happy that I realized I love my little nest as it is and that he would not have to do any painting or re~arranging...
Although I think he forgot I will need help with spring cleaning!!
Thank you for stopping by today!
Have fun visiting Kathleen over at Faded Charm for White Wednesday!
Beautiful pictures and it is no wonder you received that compliment! From what I can see your house is gorgeous! Love those roses. So pretty.

Isn't it funny how we stare at
ReplyDeletewhat we have and want to
change it ~ That is cool
that she spotted the look
of your home without even
knowing you!!

well no surprise there...your home DOES look like a perfect French farmhouse. you've emulated the "look" so perfectly! what a compliment from someone who has never been there before and doesn't really "know you." way cool..way cool! bet you're still smiling? :)
ReplyDeletesometimes we need a stranger to tell us what in our hearts we already know!!! your home is gorgeous!!!!
ReplyDeleteof course its lovely...its perfect, but sometimes we can't see it ourselves...its always nice to have a fresh set of eyes look at what we see daily! Enjoy your break from redecorating!!
ReplyDeleteI think we all feel the need for a bit of change ever once in awhile. Everyone always tells me my home is so interesting and electic and that every time they come, they see something new (even if I haven't bought anything new or changed anything). But I look around and what to chuck it all and go with a new theme and color scheme. Won't be happening so gotta be happy with what I've got. Except the dust! Ugh! I do with that would go away on its own. :) happy day to you, Tammy
ReplyDeleteI think your home is beautiful to! I love all the pictures you post and enjoy getting ideas from you.
ReplyDeleteYour little nest is amazing. Thank you for such a great photo story. Hope you are feeling better each day.

What a boost to the ego. I am known for always wanting to change things up too. Maybe just a little rearranging will fix it up, though I believe that awesome comment will keep you content for a while. Glad to hear things are still going well.
ReplyDeleteWell its true, your home is magazine worthy....and yes that was a sweet thing that would brighten anyones day....now just enjoy your "french farmhouse "and forget about the cleaning for now! x0x0
ReplyDeleteYour home is so beautiful! I love the color of your walls and all your pretty accessories!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog and leaving me a sweet comment about my wall cabinet :)

While movn a lot of my JUNK/treasures this past weekend..... from my old house...Two storage spaces later...I was feeling overwhelmed.
ReplyDeleteOne of my family members a young man in his 30s.....came to my house and mntioned to his wife..."Where does she find all this great stuff". It helps to see it through someone elses eyes....someone u would least expect to see and appreciate what we sometimes take for granted and want to change.
Needless to sayhe worked very hard moving my JUNK and he had his eye on a very old Fire truck peddle car...for his MAN CAVE. I had a very hard time parting with it but I knew it would go to another person who truley saw the beauty in the old and unusual.
What a nice compliment, Sandi! I see it too! I'm always inspired by how you put it all together :)The only Spring cleaning the hubby does here is outside. I'll take it though! xx
ReplyDeleteLOL! That is a great compliment. And I'm laughing because my DH would be breathing a sigh of relief too not to have anything added to his honey-do list!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Judy
Hi Sandi, I do hope you are feeling better. I think your home is beautiful.. it's just that we get so used to seeing our own homes that we don't see it anymore! Funny you should mention it in this post as I was going to do one about the exact same thing.. take care, Maryann
ReplyDeleteI agree with the nurse...your house is perfect the way it is!
ReplyDeleteLOVE all the white, and French country accents.
Enjoy.

Your home always looks so beautiful and the compliment was so fitting and true. Spring cleaning....hmmm. I want spring to be here, but might just have to make it summer cleaning. So much to do.

Sandi - you have worked some real French farmhouse magic in your house during the past few months. It is beautifully chic and welcoming! How nice that someone actually realized the "theme" you were working for! Luv that! :)

ReplyDeleteyour home is just beautiful-I wouldn't change a thing! We just get bored with our own stuff sometimes, but I guess that's what keeps us interested.

I agree with the nurse. Your home is LOVELY. Second guessing our spaces is natural, especially to those of us that love decorating. I'm so thankful for the moments when someone says, "Your home is so cute." (Usually I get, "you have white furniture and TODDLERS?...then I roll into my OxiClean speech.)Your photos are so pretty. Enjoy your Spring Cleaning...sometimes that's enough to make things feel fresh and new again!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean...a fresh perspective is always helpful, isn't it? I think everything is just lovely!
