I'll be home for Christmas...
We host Christmas every year so we do not have to travel...
I realized that this just might be the last time that all four of us will wake up together on Christmas morning as the princess is thinking about a nest of her own soon...
So, all the memories of Christmas past with my kids seem to be more precious to me this year...
Making me realize how time is passing so quickly...
I am looking forward to making new memories with them this season...
And am trying to feel the joy of the season and not let the sad thoughts get in the way...
So, when I see one of my favorite photos of them that I used for a Christmas card years ago under my little tree I smile...
But I can not promise that there won't be a happy tear too...
I wish they were this little again!
Joining Faded Charm for White Wednesday ~ thanks for hosting Kathleen!

Love your Christmas decorations!
ReplyDeleteThey do grow up fast, things really change when they move away..
Happy Holidays!
My kids are still little but I have some of the same feeling already. It's not uncommon for me to cry a little at Christmas out of sheer happiness. Enjoy your time together.
ReplyDeleteOh Sandi,
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine how bittersweet this Christmas will be for you. Our children grow up so fast and in an instant they will be grown with families of their own. Enjoy your time with your family!
On another note, your home looks so beautiful, you did an amazing job!
I hope you have a wonderful day!
Sincerely,
Melinda
Enjoy every moment...this is the first Xmas that my oldest daughter won't be home...she will be in Ohio starting her own family traditions. There will be lots of tears are we skype all day!!
ReplyDeleteOh Sandi I know how you feel. The first few years our kids weren't home was different, but I have since learned to embrace it and it can be a wonderful thing. In fact our oldest son and his family hosted Thanksgiving at their new house this year so all we had to do was show up. {well that and take half the house along for things they didn't have. ROFL} They are missed , but we know that they are where they are supposed to be at this time in life so I am happy for them. Prayers and hugs for you dear friend!!!!!
ReplyDeleteBlessings~
Oh Sandi....it will be a bittersweet day for you, for sure. That photo of your babes under the tree is precious. Where does all the time go?
ReplyDeleteYour house looks fantastic all dressed for Christmas! I'm sure everyone will have a wonderful time together.

ReplyDeleteOh dear, time does have a way of getting away from us. That photo is darling. Precious memories.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your decor! Have a very Merry Christmas!! xoxo Rachel
ReplyDeleteI know- I know- I know how hard it is to let them go...to have your life changing before your eyes. There is a certain sadness that underlies all the joy of seeing them grow, isn't there? A clutch in your chest and a lump in your throat as you realize that this is probably tne "last time" (for whatever it is). Blessings to you as you go through this special season- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteHere's to an extra special Christmas for you full of sweet memories and joyful blessings, Sandi! ♥

Hi Sandi, it is amazing how the days pass so quickly, a whole year almost over and a new one to begin. Everything is constantly changing, that's for sure. Wishing you and yours the happiest of holidays. Tammy
ReplyDeleteBoy, isn't it true? They grow up SO fast. Enjoy this year my friend. I love your decorations, by the way.

Awwww...how bittersweet for you Sandi! Looking forward and back to cherished Christmases past.
ReplyDeleteYour young adult & teen are making you proud now, but it must seem like yesterday that they posed for that adorable photo.
I'll make sure to take in every moment of our cherubs' childhood before it's gone in the blink of an eye.
Enjoy this Christmas with your family - it will bring you even more precious memories.
