Beautiful Fall weather has greeted me this morning and will be staying through the weekend!
The chill in the air has brought my thoughts to my long "to do" list.
I have a lot of projects that I want to tackle around my nest this fall and winter like...
1. Finish painting the trim in my hallway from umpteen years ago.
Can't believe I admitted that.
2. Paint my front door.
I bought the paint two years ago.
3. Paint my downstairs bathroom.
I am so over the yellow.
These are just a few of the "old" projects I want to complete.
Don't get me started on my "new" project wish list like...
1. Get Jim to remove a few kitchen cabinet doors for open shelving.
He has vetoed it once but I won't give up!
2. Have our hardwood floors refinished.
In a beautiful dark finish.
100. Makeover the Princess Suite.
Notice it's low priority number...once it is kept neat I will consider bumping it up.
I know I will always have a "to do" list for this old house.
Even though this old house is not an old farmhouse, romantic prairie style is quickly becoming my style.
You are right LaurieAnna, it is what is on the inside that matters!
As I look around my home at my recent changes I can't help but smile. I know some of you have seen these photos before but I thought I would share them again for Farmhouse Friday over at LaurieAnna's Vintage Home for some that may not have...
Thank you LaurieAnna for hosting and thank you all for stopping by today!
I also wanted to thank you for the all the great suggestions on the lamp I showed you the other day. I must add "paint the lamp white and get a burlap shade" to my new to do list!
Enjoy your day ~ off I go to Farmhouse Friday for more inspiration!
Oh My, your to do list looks a bit like mine, I get so busy painting furniture for everyone else that my own home gets neglected. I've been saying I'm going to paint my dining and living room for years now, this may be the year. haha!! The truth is I have a hard time making a decision on a color to paint it.
ReplyDeleteI love your dining area, it looks like a place you can just sit and breath in peacefully.
Hugs,
Melissa
Thanks for making me feel better today...now I know that I'm the only one with a to do list that's a tad bit old:)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
Such beautiful thoughts Sandi! As far as the unfinished projects, you're not alone, just so you know. You wouldn't believe my to do lists. My mind is always racing as I jump from one thing to the next, leaving behind a whirlwind of unfinished to do's!
ReplyDeleteMaybe one fine day.
Blessings & hugs,
Karen
Oh I know what your mean about long list of to do's! I did get my doors repainted last week! I so want some open cabinets in my kitchen and my husband says no to.....what is with these guys? I just figure some day when he is out of town I will do it myself, then what can he do about it? I did that years back with shower doors I wanted down in our old home, he kept saying no.....waited until he was out of town and my daughter and I did our own home improvement weekend project....not so funny though when he came home and saw the doors out on the curb for the trash men.....but what could he do? LOL!
ReplyDeleteI feel your work load I share the to do list, it over flows with last season projects still. But your pictures show a lovely home.
ReplyDeleteLisa
It's nice to see these photos together! You've got great style whatever you call it! You're certainly right about that long to do list that old houses have. It seems like mine is always trying to fall down! Haha! Have a great fall weekend!
ReplyDeleteI've tried talking my husband into removing a few cabinet doors as well....to no avail :(
ReplyDeleteI'll never get tired of looking at your darling dining room with the blue and white...
ReplyDeleteCindy
Love looking at your things/place. It is always fresh and sweet to me! I gotta list too...a bad one....a long one....we could be twins! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteHi Sandi!
ReplyDeleteI love it when I get to see photos of your home. It is so beautiful! I am sure that your to do list will get done, but if you are like me it is so much more fun to start the new ones so then they can become old ones. ;) Sending good vibes on convincing Jim about the cupboards!!!!
I love, love, love your hydrangeas a previous post too Sandi.
I just got bit by the Pinterest bug too. Thank you Sandi for pinning one of mine. That makes my whole day!!!
Your home is lovely. It may not be a "real" farmhouse but it sure looks like one on the inside. You have done a wonderful job. Good luck on that to do list. (I've been working mine lately also after putting it off all summer)
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful home! I love the breakfast area!
ReplyDeleteI have such a long list of ancient projects~you are not alone!
Oh I didn't know you lived in Wrentham, we are Mass neighbors then! That is where the outlets are. I love the farmhouse series by LaurieAnna too. Love your comments to her about farmhouse living, I would love to have a farmhouse like hers!
ReplyDeleteI have a list that is pretty similar. I've been wanting to get Alex's bedroom painted for two years now and it's still on the list!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your farmhouse style!!
Jane
I know exactly how you feel both about your house and your to do list. Mine has a lot of carry overs, too. I love what you've done so far. Patty
ReplyDeleteYou are going to be a busy lady.
ReplyDeleteLove your eating area. So pretty.
We are quite the group of procrastinators, friends.I have a notebook filled with projects to do!
ReplyDeleteBut all I see is a gorgeous home with lots of yummy goodness.
Relax and enjoy!
Hugs,
Patti
Yes, I find my to do list grows when it isn't 90 degrees outside. The cooler weather motivates me. Love the idea of removing the cabinet doors. Beautiful pics.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty and I love all the white, you are certainly getting the farmhouse look in your home!
ReplyDeleteMy husband has vetoed the cabinet doors coming off too but I'm working on him! I also have curtains that have needed put up for over 6 months but since it involves putting rods up I have to wait on him!
Befor I forget...I'm having a Ramsign giveaway on my blog stop by and join in!
can I come for breakfast??
ReplyDeletelooks sooo home-y
Hi
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! My list is just so endless it would take too long to make the list.
I like Donna's idea of a TaDa list. She has it next to the to do on her wall.
Your house looks lovely, I love an old house... it just has good bones.
Wishing you a productive weekened!
Blessings
Rebecca

I didn't get to anything on my to-do list over the summer and now I am trying to come up with a daily routine so that housework isn't so overwhelming.. I get stressed when it gets out of hand. Wishing you a great new week. :) Tammy
ReplyDeleteThank you girlie for your beautiful comment and how did you even have the time to visit with your long list...Yet I am sure I could make a list that long as well, I am just blocking it out of my mind :) I told my daughter what you said and it really made her Sunday! and a big thank you from her!
ReplyDeleteYou amaze me with all that you create over here as well, this piece may be heading over to my shop space, making room for another one in its place!
See you soon sweet friend

I had a very similar painting list for the summer and only accomplished two of the things. Not so good. But I shall continue on and try to get to them this fall. By the love, love your kitchen dining area. So perfectly charming.
ReplyDeleteI love a newly painted fron door!!! Great to-do list!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, your list is as long as mine! Love the preserves jar in your header! I wanted to say thank you for your kind words on the birth of my baby boy!
ReplyDeleteCome on by, I am doing a give away to celebrate!
Merci encore!

I think your to-do list looks a bit like mine. :) There is always something but that is what makes it fun, to dream and to create. Your home is so beautiful Sandi.
