guest post by arcadian home decor...

This Monday afternoon finds me relaxing back at home after a fun~filled long weekend at my campground.
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend too!

Our internet connection was not the best there these last few days so I am a little behind on my visits.  So, while I catch up a bit I have a wonderful post from Jennifer from Arcadian Home Decor to share with you.  Ever since they contacted me a few weeks ago to do a guest post I have been doing some window shopping on their site and have quite a wish list going!

Take it away Jennifer...

Hi all! I’m Jennifer and I write for Arcadian Home Decor. I've been writing about home decor since graduating university and have loved it ever since. I'm addicted to patterned fabrics, Jonathan Adler, chaise lounges, old doors, milk glass jars, antiques, and chandeliers. And anything vintage - which is why I adore the posts on A Cottage Muse. I can't thank Sandi enough for letting me guest post on her blog!

The key to creating gorgeous vintage French interiors is using rich materials in a room's home decor, like thick, heavy fabrics, stately furniture with a distinct aged feel, as well as period-specific table decorations and wall hangings like artwork. These are eight sophisticated vintage French interiors.

The features of this formal bedroom that make it distinctly vintage and French are the floor-to-ceiling canopy as well as the matching antique chandeliers. Ooh la la!

This outdoor setting is the perfect place for entertaining - the massive aged wood table can accommodate many while the weathered urns and rust-coloured wrought-iron lanterns add to the vintage look.

There’s no shortage of fabulous French-inspired pieces in this space, from the old stone mantels to the bench sofa and chairs. The muted palette is also vintage chic.

Large and in charge

Eclectic Revisited by Maureen Bower (via)
Just a few grand pieces of distressed yet elegant furniture and this dining room looks like it came straight out of the 19th century.

A modern twist

While these vintage chairs have both contemporary lines and fabrics, the gold-framed wall hanging in French infuses this sitting area with avant-garde good looks.

This classic kitchen belongs in a home in Paris - the old-fashioned stove is a true centerpiece, accented well by the warm wood cabinetry and copper cookware.

This vintage French vanity set-up is so pretty, all in white and creams. It has touches of present-day trends, like a sleek fabric-covered chair, almost metallic floral-print wallpaper and little trinkets as table decorations.

A beautiful bathroom with a claw-foot tub and aged wood floors is the perfect vintage French interior to escape in.

  4. It would be a dream come true to have a terrace like this. We would also need a proper summer, so we could enjoy it.
