While hurricane Irene (thankfully downgraded to a tropical storm) blows around outside, clean up from hurricane Sandi began inside today.
My studio was just a mess (I am not brave enough to show you any photos). I tend to make piles and piles of "stuff" in my studio during the summer. "Stuff" I found while treasure hunting that I want to keep for myself or stuff headed for my booth that needs a little tweaking. So, since I wasn't going anywhere today I started sorting through everything, concentrating on the treasures that would stay in my studio.
Remember these girls...
I love them and found a place for them to nest...
I think these beauties might just be a new obsession of mine...
I recently "met" Vanna from the fabulous blog Delusions of Grandeur and she did a post on her wonderful collection of boudoir dolls including some of these Munzerlite treasures. When she saw I was looking for names for my girls she suggested I name one of them Vanna and she would name one of hers Sandi! She thought Vanna would go nice with Vivienne...
Can you see that I draped some pretty ribbon over her to let her know I still love her too...
Oh and I also found this pretty little doll too ~ not sure if I am keeping her...
She is missing one arm and one leg and the ones she does have are detached. She is still wonderful though!
I also kept these two books for their color and put together a little vignette...
I changed up the shelf over my desk by painting one frame white and changing out the other for a white one (they were both pink) and added the vintage inspired french tray I found at HomeGoods...
Let me move a few things so you can get a closer look...
Isn't it cute!
My studio really needs a deep cleaning and I would like to change it up a bit. I would like to move everything out and start new but the room right outside my studio is full of pieces I am working on for our fall show at the shop.
I tend to jump from one project to another!
The room is at least neat and organized and I am ready to get back in the swing of things!
As I cleaned up after hurricane Sandi I tried to make a pretty pile of other treasures from summer hunting, Etsy purchases and giveaway wins that I would like to use in my studio makeover...
Did you notice that I went from changing things up a bit in this space to a makeover?!!
Uh oh!
Thanks for visiting and enjoy your week!
Don't worry Sandi! Great creativity and genius takes some elbow room and a little clutter! Besides, I'm betting that Hurricane Sandi is still neater than Tornado Karen... :)

Oh Sandi I think I could spend hours and hours soaking up all the amazing details in your wonderful studio! You have an artists eye my friend.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you so much for the shout out! BTW "Vanna" would be the one without hair (the closest thing to what I've got goin' on! Lol!) It does roll right off the tongue with "Vivianne"... dont'cha think? *winks*
A high five *slap* on the boudoir doll addiction my friend. They've grabbed a tight hold on my heart....I don't know just what it is about them that makes me crazy. but it's a visceral thing....Kinda like crystals on old chandeliers! Lol! My newest post features my two newest ones. One was even a freebie! Can't get better than that! Vanna
i always love your finds and all of your vignettes! i would say that hurricane sandi turned out to be quite a "delightful storm!" ;)
ReplyDeleteI love those girls... they're amazing, they each have their own personalities! ...
ReplyDeletebut what really caught my eye was the sign behind one of them with the clock on it. THAT is crazy cool, i'd love to know more about it??
good luck on the organizing... phew, when i do that it sometimes just stirs up more messes and ideas!
Cindy
What a cute post Sandi!! I have often been referred to as a hurricane as well. Must be something about our name?? lol
ReplyDeleteLove what you have done in your studio. You did make it so delightful although I would have loved to seen it in it's *stormy* condition. Somedays mine looks like a typhoon went through! :)
Hugs~
Glad Irene hasn't been too impactful for you!! Studio looks great!
ReplyDeleteThose dolls are unique and have pretty names :)
ReplyDeleteMy craft tables are a mess..don't have a craft room, YET!!! LOL..still on the "to do" list from 7 years ago..

That's the ground, why I currently change anything in my study. It needs a makeover. But I don't want to paint, I don't want to change furniture, I don't want to spend time ... if I would start this job, I know that I jump from one project to the next and finally two or three rooms get a new face.
ReplyDeleteAnd because I know this, I stop my fingers :D
Hugs

Oh-I know- My workroom is always just a flipping mess too..and I dread having to go in there unless I am going to make MORE of a mess! I need to do some serious clean up there so that I can start some Fall projects. I am glad you got a good start on your REDO!;>) xo Diana
ReplyDeleteLove seeing your Boudoir Dolls.
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely. I have recently been posting bits and pieces from our home..but really wanted to post something different tomorrow...and thanks to your inspiration...I think I too will pose my girls in a little photo session. Thank you for sharing. Have a great week. Bobbie
Hurricane Sandi LOL!!! I love it! I'm so glad you kept those little doll lamp thingies, they're so unique.
ReplyDeleteWe all have our secret messes, mine is a closet that I literally have to stand back from when I open it!
Hi Sandi,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you and the family were safe through the hurricane. I adore your boudoir dolls, those are so hard to find around here unless you want to pay a small fortune. I love how they look in your studio!!
Wishing you a wonderful week my friend!
Sincerely,
Melinda
You are too cute! I am glad that hurricane Sandi was easily cleaned up after. :) I love your treasures, they are so pretty and it sounds like you are going to busy.

That's how it starts. One little thing at a time!
ReplyDeleteYou have a great room to create in.
Your studio has so many interesting pieces in it, your little dolls are so unique, I love them.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
Hurricane Sandi can come visit my 'studio' any old day. Your vignettes and freshened spaces look marvelous. I love peeking at all your treasures, Sandi!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you're safe & sound. We lost power for 12 hrs, but no damage. Goodbye Irene!

Oh man...I have piles, just like yours, all over my studio....a wedding one, a take to the booth one, a list one, a Christmas one, a sew one, and on and on. Yours looks so nice, now come on over and help make mine pretty too. Happy Tuesday Sandy. Hope you fared well with that other hurricane. xo
ReplyDeleteLovin your Posts & Lovin your Blog, I think I will have to sit for awhile & EnJoy....
ReplyDeleteCheryl
Sandi, your studio is so much fun! I think I could get very creative in there! You have inspiration everywhere, and I love it!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could get inspired to clean up after Hurricane Dawn... *winks* And the biggest collateral damage is from the Hurricane G-Kids Force... which tends to be a daily storm that I don't always have the strength to ride out. *whew*
ReplyDeleteYou have done an amazing job in your Beautiful Studio. Naming one of your Boudoir Dolls after Dear Vanna is a marvelous idea, her Passion for them is legendary! *smiles*
Glad to hear you are not being devestated by the Natural Hurricane, it saddens me to see how much damage has occurred from it all along the East Coast.
Thanks for stopping by... and yes, I can do a lot of damage at the R&R Shop too! *LOL*
