perfect fit...

Back in February I showed you my little den makeover.
While I am very happy with how the room turned out this wall just needed a little something...
I originally had thoughts of mixing some architectural salvage with vintage mirrors.
I finally bit the bullet and committed to a new look.
I started by switching the trumeau style mirror with the old 6 pane window that I already had behind the printer...

I like it much better.
Then I replaced the window behind the printer with another old chippy one I already had that has a few panes with a greenish tint to them...
I bought some old shutters at the shop a few weeks ago and decided to use one as a shelf over the desk...
What do you think...

As you can see I used a few of the treasures I found over the weekend to dress it up...

I thought the old oil can looked great with some of my Mom's old pitchers...

I kept the wooden advertising piece and put one of my vintage flower frogs in front of it...
I need to find the perfect little something to stick in it.

I put the wonderful old tin next to a vintage clam rake I bought at the shop...
I love it and think it fits perfectly in the room...
Now I just need to find the perfect chandelier...
Those spots are in the mirror not on my ceiling!

Thank you for visiting today!
I am joining Kathleen for White Wednesday today over at Faded Charm.  Next Wednesday I am hoping to head to Brimfield.  Anyone else going?

  2. LOVE IT Sandi! It all looks just perfect and hey...that light looks like mine in my dining room or very close. lol. Can you believe that when we moved in here there was a very old chandelier (no prisms) hanging up there and we took it down and put up that light????? CRAZY I know...what I wouldn't give to get that back, but it is gone now. Sold it on ebay several years ago and it went to a place that redoes them and then resells them. I watched that sell on ebay again after being fixed up. Some of the dumb things I have done. lol
    Blessings~

  3. How about a black and white photo of Mom in the flower frog?

The room looks nicely balanced now and of course we always need more space for display, so the shelf is perfect. :D

  7. The shelf is perfect - gave the space a little more dimension. A vintage postcard would be perfect perched in your flower frog. Brimfield you ask?? OF COURSE...can hardly wait!

  10. I love it! What a special place you've created with all these wonderful treasures. I had to laugh when you mentioned the spots on the mirror...not the ceiling. Love those ribbons on your bulletin board.

  20. Hey Sandi Love your new additions. I was looking at your oil can it it looks like the one I have in my living room on my shutter shelf. I was thinking of adding the other shutter shelf under it, but haven't gotten over to the mills store to get the iron brackets. What do you think??
