not so tickled pink...

Ok...is it just me or do you start a project in one part of your house then jump to a different part of the house and start a whole different one?  Then you are going back and forth, and back and forth and neither one is getting finished then you go start a third?
I have been trying to finish off my kitchen and den mini makeovers (two rooms but really one project) then I started a project downstairs.  It needs a big purge, a deep cleaning, a coat of fresh paint on the walls and in the end all reorganized (heck, more than one project there but it is all project number two).  Now I have decided that the princess suite needs a makeover too ~ a mini makeover for now.  While I would love to change the wall color which I am not so tickled pink with anymore...
It will have to wait.  The princess is graduating from college this May (so, so proud!) and with her future unknown at this point no major makeover will be done.  However with the pinks and roses slowly disappearing from my nest her room seemed like the next place to start a purge (and a room that always needs cleaning!)...
I had these two paintings in her room but they were more me than her.  Well, they really aren't me anymore so they have gone to my booth.  Now while I love this bureau I found treasure hunting...
I am over it.  Off to my booth it will go.  I am replacing it with this...
A trash find (ssshhhh...don't tell her!).  It looks like this now...
I like it and so does she and it will fit into the future makeover I have in my mind for that room much better!  This photo was taken downstairs.  That rug is going soon and see the back wall...
Jim and I went to Home Depot yesterday and got some shelving to put up.  I need more storage for craft supplies, items I have on Etsy as well as small projects that await a makeover.  I am going to hide it all behind a drop cloth curtain.  Now if only I could sew...

I am joining Susan over at Between Naps On The Porch for her Metamorphosis Monday party.  Hmmm...I hope I don't get inspired to start a fourth project!!

For all you followers who remember I mentioned Friday that I would fill you all in on how I plan to celebrate my one year blog anniversary today, my apologies.  To be honest I had one of those weekends and did not get my thoughts put together yet.  So, please forgive me but I promise to get my act together by Wednesday!  It makes more sense for me anyway since this wonderful adventure began on White Wednesday almost a year ago!!

Have a great week!!

  2. I know what you mean, Sandi! I've always got multiple projects going on, and plenty of interruptions with little ones. Sigh...guess we'll just take it hour by hour. LOVE your bureau makeover, and also believe there are treasures to be found in the trash. :)

  3. I could really relate to this post. I am bad about that mostly with small projects. All over my tables in every room are little projects that need finishing. I am the worlds worst procrastinator. Each project would take under an hour if I would just get to it. Love all of those items going into your booth eventhough I am a blue person. I have 4 grandsons. If I could have at least 1 grandaughter that might change!!! Enjoy your week. ~~Sherry~~

  4. You sound like me. I tend to have adult ADD when it comes to household projects ;P

  6. I also have decorating and creative ADD, so I can totally relate. It takes a WHOLE bunch of willpower for me to finish something before starting something else.

    Have a great week,

  8. Oh, you are not alone in jumping from project to project. My house is a constant DIY project. Hubby puts up with me :)

Congrats to your daughter, on her almost graduation! How excited and proud you must be.

What a darling dresser! Looks much better in white. I never find free things. Lucky you!

I'll be back to see the changes you make to the room!

    Be well!

  9. How exciting that your daughter is graduating! I can't really take on any big projects in our apartment and I usually take up the entire living room when I'm working on something so it motivates me to finish it ASAP!!!

Can't wait to see the finished room:)

  10. You are so like me, I go from one project to the next, to the next without finishing any of them! I need to slow down and finish one project at a time but all these ideas swirl in my head! :) I love the new dresser, I loved the old one too and I bet it will see quickly! Congrats to your daughter too, that is very cool!

  11. For a moment I thought I wrote your post!! Jumping from one thing to another is one of my weaknesses, too. Once I started to wash the kitchen floor and before I had the mop in the sink I had all the drawers emptied out, which led me to the bathroom drawers, then cleaning the shower, and so on...and the floor never got washed...and I have crafts, partially completed in every room, nook and cranny!!

And yes, I see the snow is coming your way...we'll get about 4" tomorrow then about a foot on Wed (maybe a snow day from school on WED - fingers crossed!) - stay warm!

  14. Another little bird fluttering from her nest! :) Congrats to her, Sandi! I can empathize with your decor dilemma. lol! I used to be all about Shabby Chic, roses, frills and froo froo-ness in my home. Over the past 5 years....it's gone. Every bit of it. Maybe it's an age thing. Maybe it's just because we begin to simplify our lives as the years go by? Either way, looking forward to seeing your new and improved roomS! lol!

  15. I always have so many things going on that it's hard to ever get anything done! Your dresser turned out great and isn't it nice to be able to sell your stuff when your tastes change?

  17. Boy oh boy, you have been BUSY!! Everything is looking great! It's nice to be able to take those things that you're "over" to a booth to sell, isn't it? That trash find dresser is definitely a keeper!!

    Have a good day!

  20. Hello there Sandi: As I sit here, like you, with mounds of snow falling per minute, I looked over some favorite blogs and noticed your 'new' look. I LOVE IT!!! It is very fresh and inviting. I too will be 'celebrating' my one year of blogging/website anniversary. Must think of a way to celebrate; isn't this just so much fun! Happy Birthday to you and your Bog! Many continued successes!

  21. Hello Sandi....!

I hope this note finds you well my Friend....I see you are literally flat out like a lizard drinkin' & can certainly understand the whole 'flitting between projects' concept....hahahahaha....Why we do this to ourselves I'll NEVER know I'm sure....I mean I know we're supposed to be pretty adept at multitasking but sometimes I think we go a little overboard....hahahahaha....Or is it true that there really is NO REST FOR THE WICKED....** wink **....!!

THANK YOU for your comment re my recent 'career move'....I find I'm NOW looking forward to my work day & can't wait to see what I manage to achieve on my own....No doubt there will be MUCH 'project juggling'....hahahahaha....!

Take care Love & have yourself a FABULOUS week....!

    Cheers for now from Oz,
    Tamarah :o)
