vintage typewriter...

Remember this french beauty...
Well I still have not painted it yet...
But I plan to this weekend while the fisherman is gone.  I really wanted it for the computer in my den but the guys say it is too small for them.  Then I was going to put it in my craft room (do I qualify to call it my studio?) but I need my big table to spread out my projects.  So I want to give it a shabby coat of white and have it in my booth for the Vintage Holiday Sale with this beauty on it...

I saw it the other day at the place I got my doors and it has been on my mind ever since.  I popped in yesterday and it was still there, just waiting for me...

Question is, am I going to be able to part with it...
Could you...

I am joining Debra over at Common Ground today for Vintage Inspiration Friday.  She knows how to throw a great party ~ thanks Debra!!

Love your desk and typewriter. That desk will look amazing in white. Can't think of a better color for it. lol.
I passed up a vintage typewriter at a garage sale this summer for $5.00 and have since wished I had it for my booth. Oh well...I also had one here for years that my hubby got somewhere and I broke off all the keys and sold them on ebay when they were hot. LOL...the things we do and then wonder, "WHAT WAS I THINKING"...ha!
Happy Friday!

I agree that the desk will look wonderful in white. It's a great looking desk.
I don't think I could give up the typewriter but I think I'm becoming a hoarder so don't go by me. I have two old typewriters (both old portables). I have one in a display in my lower level family room and the other in my living room. I get more compliments on that typewriter. I say if you love it, keep it!

I passed up one of those old Royal typewriters yesterday and could have kicked myself today. I don't know whether I will drive the 40 miles to see if it is still there today...sigh.... Love your little desk. I need a new (old) desk too. Hugs- Diana

Hi Sandi! I love the desk, it will look awesome painted white but I have to admit I am a sucker for old chippy shades of mustard and gold! Can't wait to see the afters! I also love those ornaments. What a great idea! I'm using as much sheet muisc as I can for my Christmas theme in my window this year. I have tons of colored bulb ornaments that I don't like so now I can give them a make-over! Thanks for the inspiration. And btw, your doors turned out great! I use mine as walls in my space also. I LOVE the oval hardware on yours.
Have a fabulously blessed weekend!

I love that desk girl! I can imagine you all full of paint today (& possibly tomorrow) and I know I'm going to die when you post about it! I don't know how you can sell your goodies. I'm such a hoarder. I love that typewriter too...neither one of them would leave my house!!!!

oh girl...I love YOUR fan! geez...we are twins. That's all there is to it. I've said it a million times but it HAS to be true!!!!

You know I love you if I'm commenting at midnight. I wanted to catch up with you and see what all I've missed and now I'm going to bed all jealous ;)))

I am still working on your little 10-10 surprise. I'm late but you'll get it when you least expect it. Just know that I haven't forgotten about you :)))

I hope you are still enjoying your Birthday MONTH. By the looks of all of your fabulous finds...you've been having a LUCKY birthday MONTH! :)))

I love this so much! I used to have a vintage typewriter, I think it got misplaced in one of my many moves. Clearly I need to get another one! XX!

That's a question I ask myself each time I buy something. Can I part with it? Sometimes I just have to live with it for a while before I'm ready! Love both the desk AND the typewriter. Thanks for a great post and for linking up with VIF!
hugs,
Debra

Hello! I just found your blog and really enjoy it:) I am very curious to see what you do with the desk. I like the style of it very much and for some reason think a dark blue color would be cool which is much different from the other suggestions to go white...I love color, what can I say!!

As for the typewriter, keep it and display it, that is too cool and rare. I gave up an old Smith Corona and keep kicking myself for selling that beauty off.

Take care!!

Your desk is going to be a stunner when it's painted and yes, I would have trouble letting go of the antique typewriter.

Sandi! I just opened up (about 10 minutes ago!) the most wonderful box of vintage goodness from none other than...you!

Thank-you so much for all the thoughtful, lovely gifts! You are so very generous and I love them all--they will find loved spots amongst my other treasures!

I love both the desk and the typewriter--wouldn't be able to get rid of either one!

Thanks again, my friend! Hope you're having a beautiful evening...
