all hallows eve...

Happy Halloween!!!

This photo is from a few years ago but I wanted to pop in since I have been missing for a few weeks.
I have been working on my Master Bedroom makeover and it is coming along quite nicely!  The walls have been painted and I am in the middle of painting a few pieces of furniture.
I have also been getting ready for our Vintage Holiday Open House at the Wrentham Country Store which will be November 29th through December 1st.

Oh...and I've been watching a little baseball!
Congratulations to the World Series Champions,
the Boston Red Sox!

all hallows eve...

I got side tracked the other day from getting ready for the show and had some fun making a few fall vignettes around my nest.  I like that I have changed to shades of blacks, creams and whites with some warm wood tones for my fall palette.  Now that my kids are grown I don't need all the pumpkins to be orange...

I love the new banner I picked up at the shop for the mirror over the mantel...

I also bought the ghost at the shop ~ thought it would add a bit of whimsy...

When I first saw it I thought it was made of burlap but it is made of wire mesh...

Pretty clever don't you think?!

I kept it simple...

Love my new clocks...

Do you like my headless cabinet cards...

I found them on the Pottery Barn website!

As you can see there are still little hints of orange.
Like this wonderful old song book I found, it is by a Perkins (my Mom's maiden name) just like the one that I have that was hers...

My ledge didn't change too much...

Just added a few baby boos...

I am sharing today at Faded Charm for White Wednesday...

Thanks Kathleen!

Thank you all for stopping by!

broke the rule...

Ok, I admit it, I broke the rule.  I even broke the amended rule.  But as you will see as I show you how I fluffed my nest for Halloween, I couldn't resist...
I decided to keep the painting...I listened to you and it did warm up my room for the fall!  Thank you!!  Now in my living room I just added a few little touches to the mantle for Halloween like Miss Tiger Lily (from Etsy)...
Isn't she sweet!  Then I just added this little tussie to the other end of the mantle...
I usually fill the fireplace with candles and when lit in the evening the glow through this sparkly pumpkin is so pretty...
To the ledge I already gave a fall makeover to here is what I added...

Of course I had to add a little magical sparkle...
I also added a few little touches on this table ...

My kitchen table got a new little centerpiece...
Here in my den where I spend so much time blogging I added this wonderful poem that I framed from The Graphics Fairy to the cork board over the computer...

Remember the wonderful invitation I showed you the other day?  Here it is...

Simple fall vignette...
Love this old piece...I think it was part of a curtain holder...

Now I can show you how I broke the rule for a second time.  I decided to keep this as well...
You were right again ~ I just love it!  I added a bit of sparkle here too...

Gone are the days of orange pumpkins, ghosts and witches around my nest.  These subtle hints of Halloween are more my style.  I am joining Cindy over at My Romantic Home today for Show and Tell.  Thank you for visiting today!  Don't forget to come back on Sunday 10~10~10 to enter my giveaway!  We will be enjoying a beautiful long weekend here in honor of Columbus Day (or something else...hee hee).  One last weekend with my girls around the fire!  Hope you all enjoy your weekend!!

black and boo...

Happy October everyone (and Happy Birthday Jodie)!! It is time to add a little black magic here to my nest which is just in time for Vintage Black Friday over at The French Cupboard. Before I give you a little peek at some of my Halloween decorations I wanted to show you this wonderful old mirror I got for my downstairs bathroom... It is made of plastic and I am not sure if it is that old but I just loved the detail...
Oh and remember the old soaps from this post...I finally brought home a few... Now I do not go all out for Halloween around my nest ~ I just add a few things here and there, like this invitation I found on Etsy... Look how wonderful... I also made a few of these little Halloween treat boxes... Take a look at her hat (hee hee)... Then I have these vintage silver coaster chalkboards... Those are just a few vintage inspired treasures that I will be playing with today as I join in on the fun over at Common Ground for Vintage Inspiration Friday. (Wow ~ two great parties in one day!) I will do a post next week and show you how it all came together. Next week I am also going to put together a little giveaway because today is my 100th post! Time flies when you are having fun!! This blogging adventure just keeps getting better every day ~ thanks to all of you! Enjoy your weekend ~ xoxo!
