recent finds...

Recently I took a peek inside my friend Susan's Etsy shop,
When I saw these beautiful vintage horse ribbons I knew they would look great in my space at the shop, don't you agree...

Of course you know I had to keep one for myself...

Then I found this portrait at a local thrift shop...

Perfect timing, don't you agree?!!

The next few days are going to be in the 90s and feel like...

Bring it on!

I hope the sun is shining where you are today!

missed blogging...

It has been over a week since I last posted...

I have been a bit distracted lately...

Dealing with real life's ups and downs...

The fog is lifting a bit and I am going to get back in the swing of things!
I missed blogging!

How was your holiday weekend?  Memorial Day Weekend for us was almost a wash out, but summah is finally on it's way this week and as we say in New England,
"I'm wicked excited!"

I miss visiting and am looking forward to catching up.
I hope you all are doing well and thank you for stopping by!

junkin' time...

On opening weekend at the campground I put a little junkin' time in with the girls.
I found some great stuff for the shop but ended up keeping this old clock face for myself...

I love the contrast it brings to my shelf in the den...

The best part of the day was watching my bff Lisa, whose house burnt down on Christmas Eve, finally start to buy some treasures for her new house!!
The old house is slated to be torn down very soon with new construction to follow!
It was wonderful to see her smiling and finally allowing herself to get excited after such a terrible tragedy.
She has had a few other wrenches thrown her way lately too ~ when it rains, it does pour.
I would love it if you could send a few prayers her way.
Again, her strength amazes me and makes me want to be a better person.
Love you gf.

I am joining the lovely ladies over at Ivy and Elephants today for What's It Wednesday.

Thank you for visiting...have a nice day!

I am being featured today on Where Women Create's website for their Fabulous Friday Feature!
Back in January they had asked for people to share a favorite item in their studio and I shared my chandelier...

Thank you Stephanie and Where Women Create for making my day!

You can see the original post I shared with them here.

vintage lizzie...

We have a new Shop Girl at the Wrentham Country Store!
I took a few photos last week of Liz's new space, just look how cute her sign is...

When I saw her booth all I could think of was all the summers I spent on Cape Cod at my Nana's cottage...

Her handmade pillows are just beautiful...

Sweet chenille covered lampshades...

Shabby, chippy colors of summer...

Just lovely, don't you agree?!!

I am working this afternoon and am looking forward to seeing what else she has brought in!

Looks like Liz is back to blogging too ~ you can find her blog here.
Stop by and welcome her back and tell her I sent you!

Welcome to the shop Liz!

Joining the fun today at

glamping...

Our 2013 camping season opened on May 1st and we enjoyed an extra long weekend in our new trailer!
We have come a long way since our first used 23' trailer that we bought almost 17 years ago.
This trailer is our 5th one and hopefully our last (you know how men are!).  We do spend a lot of time at the campground from May to October and we wanted to be more comfortable.
And we are ~ take a peek...

I guess I can't call it camping anymore, it's glamping now.
I am still getting use to the dark, new decor ~ it's very different for me.
Jim loves it!
I am trying to put some vintage touches around with the old seltzer bottle and GROCERIES sign that my sister in law Christine made.  I am also trying to lighten things up with the new pillows and bedspread as well as putting in pops of aqua and green.
It is very comfortable and cozy at night with the fireplace going under the television (it was chilly this past weekend).
It was nice to disconnect from the internet and catch up with my girlfriends.  We did some treasure hunting and had so much fun at our Cinco de Mayo party!
I also caught up with some magazines I bought a while ago...

I still have some fluffing to do inside and we need to do some work outside as well.
Can't wait 'til the weekend!

Thanks girls for a fantastic weekend!!
Remember, what happens at Pinewood, stays at Pinewood!

I am waaay behind on my visits and am looking forward to seeing what you all have been up to!
Thanks for stopping by!

florentine finds...

Years ago, when we first moved into our home (which we bought from Jim's parents), his grandmother lived with us for a while in her own fully finished space downstairs.  When my son was little he use to "fix" his great grandmother's stack tables all the time.
Jake spent a lot of time with his "great nana" every day, doing word search puzzles together and watching television.
She would listen to all his tales from the day and he would share his dreams for the future.
He would always ask if she needed any help with anything and one day she asked if he could help tighten up the legs on her stack tables.
They were beautiful old florentine tables just like these that Courtney from French Country Cottage shared on Pinterest...

Every so often, Nana would loosen up the legs so Jake would have something to help her with.
She affectionately called him her "little man".
As I was hunting for treasures for the white show I came across a set of two of these old beauties.
When Jake saw them, his face lit up and he said I remember the ones I used to fix for great nana all the time!
Such a beautiful memory.
He asked if I was selling them and I replied no, not if you would like me to keep them.
He thought about it and said well, it's not a complete set and they are not great nana's, so no.
I asked for his help to tighten them up for me  ;)...

This set has now found a new home.  I wonder what story they have to tell?

Mary Ellen found a full set for the show and painted them a soft gray.
I am sure you've seen some on Pinterest already...

Last week I found an old florentine tray and a set of coasters that I am bringing in the shop this afternoon...

What old treasures have you found lately?

Today is May 1st which means camping season begins!
We just got a new trailer (so excited) and I will share some pictures with you next week!

May 1st also means my shift at the shop switches from Saturday mornings to Wednesday afternoons.
I am hoping to spy something new for my my kitchen wall today.
You all gave me such great suggestions and inspiration last week, thank you so much!

We also have a new Shop Girl starting today!
Some of you may remember Liz from her blog, "Vintage Lizzie".
I will be taking some photos of her space today and will share next week!

I am going to take a little blog break but will be back next week with lots of new stuff to share!

Thanks for stopping by!
