excited thrifter...

Linda is once again hosting Nifty Thrifty Tuesday (thank you Linda!) over at Coastal Charm.  As I mentioned yesterday Jim and I went treasure hunting on Sunday and here is what I found...
I found an old white with black trim enamel bowl, the basket of scrabble tiles (which, as you can see, I am having great fun with), and the cutest white chippy old stool...

Since I am in love with industrial now I picked up this vintage fan...
I don't think it works but I loved the size and color.  For myself I found another sweet vintage book...
It is "Daily Food For Christians". The binding is quite loose as are some pages ~ it must have been someones favorite...
I also found this pretty towel embroidered with 2 "J"s, perfect for Jaclyn and Jake...
Then I found these great old photos...

I had a lot of fun looking at all the faces, hair styles and clothing!  Next is my favorite find but I am wondering if I should paint this lovely old mantel mirror white...
I think it will make the detail stand out more...

I also found this old storage box which would be perfect to hold crafting supplies...

I loved this old black case...

I loved it even more when I saw the price ($11) which included the contents...

I have been on the hunt for old piano rolls for my booth makeover!  I shopped yesterday with my new booth vision in mind, looking for treasures in a neutral palette to mix in with some furniture pieces I am working on to feather my made over space with ~ hopefully in time for the Vintage Holiday Sale at the shop.  However, loving the industrial craze and wanting a pop of color for the holidays I picked up this vintage red bicycle tire pump...

I have another busy day ahead but am very excited to share some news with you tomorrow which is White Wednesday and I will be announcing my giveaway winner!!  Speaking of giveaways I just won the Press Junket Giveaway over at Curious Sofa Diaries!!  I just found this blog and have been catching up on all the inspiring posts full of wonderful display ideas.  Thank you very much Debbie ~I am so excited!  My birthday month has been full of surprises!!  Good luck to all of you and have a wonderful day!

  1. Wow you hit the motherload. Ok I think you should paint the mirror as you said so the detail shows more prominently. And the storage pieces- wonderful.
So, whatcha going to do with your piano rolls? I love mine in the top the booth- it lends such a nice glow - sort of brings down the harshness of the overhead lights.
    Lovely treasures indeed.

  7. Oh wow, you found some amazing treasures! That little stoll is just adorable! And the fan is so cool! (sorry, I just couldn't resist the pun:) ) I adore your mirror! While it looks wonderful as is, I agree that painted white would bring out all of the wonderful details. I would LOVE to find a box with all of the compartments in like yours. Awesome!
